HotandFlashy has reviewed 36 products for mature skin. She approved 25, gave 5 mixed takes, and skipped 6, for a Guru Score of 69%. She tests things for months before giving a verdict. She also takes before-and-after photos to track whether something is actually working.
What does HotandFlashy recommend for mature skin?
Her biggest enthusiasm is for microcurrent devices. She named the NuFACE Mini Plus her one category winner, praising the immediate lift it gives to the cheeks, hooded eyes, and jaw. She speaks about the NuFACE Trinity Microcurrent Device in similar terms. Products made for post-menopausal skin also earn some of her warmest takes. She used the Alloy Estriol Cream for six months, took before-and-after photos, and said the results genuinely surprised her. Estriol is an estrogen the skin stops receiving as the body ages. She found it made a visible difference where ordinary skincare had not. Her approvals also tend to favor formulas that do not cause irritation. She praised the Alloy M4 Eye Cream because it can be used every day from the very first use, with no redness or stinging.
In her words
"I did a review on this after I had used it for 6 months, a before and after, and oh my gosh, was I amazed at the after pictures after just 6 months of this. I mean, when I started with Tretinoin, it took about a year to see a difference in my skin. And so, I really liked it that with the estriol, I could see the difference in 6 months. Estriol Cream is specifically made for estrogen deprived skin. So, it's really for people who are post-menopausal or perimenopausal. You wouldn't use it if you were younger and your body is still making enough estrogen. But once your body stops making estrogen, your skin really becomes estrogen deprived and you can replace it from the outside in by using a cream like this. So, I've been really, really happy with this."
"It is the NuFACE Mini Plus, and it is one of my all-time favorite anti-aging at-home devices because it really works and I see the results right away. The results are more temporary than other things, but the immediate difference that I see in the tightness and the firmness of my skin, and also the little lift that I get for my hooded eyes and for my cheeks, it is always amazing to me when I see it right in front of my eyes in the mirror. It comes with a small bottle of the conducting gel, a small bottle of the conducting serum, and a brush to put it on with, and it retails for 165."
"I love the Geek and Gorgeous retinaldehyde serum, the A Game. It is 20% off along with everything else from the brand on Amazon."
"With other products, I've been saying for 13 years, there's no reason to get a dedicated eye cream because there's nothing special in it that isn't already in face cream. But this one, where the percentage is so much higher, it's really going to help the eye area so much more. This is so creamy and emollient, you only need the tiniest, tiniest little dab of this. I've been using this for about 3 months now and I really love it. I take a tiny dab of this and I just work it underneath my eyes and onto my eyelids. [...] The one thing that I love about this is that it's so nonsensitizing. You [...] can start using it right off the bat every single day. No irritation."
"The NuFACE Trinity is such a nice treatment. It's relaxing, it's soothing, and it really helps to lift the cheeks, lift the jowls, lift the sagging hooded lids. You can also get the eye attachment which really helps to lift the hooded eyes."
"Maybelline Instant Age Rewind is in the sale around 22 to 25% off. It is just a classic that really performs well. It is a great concealer."

What has HotandFlashy skipped for mature skin?
She was direct about products that asked a lot without delivering results. She skipped the SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum after a two-month trial with before-and-after photos that showed no visible change. The smell made daily use unpleasant, and the $295 price tag made a second bottle impossible to justify. The ZIIP Halo 2.0 also got a skip. She found it no different from the original ZIIP in any meaningful way, with no extra power and no redesign. She also skipped the Qure Micro Infusion System after three uses, saying she saw no real difference and did not enjoy the process. The Shark Beauty CryoGlow LED Face Mask she found clunky and uncomfortable.
"I did try SkinMedica TNS years ago in 2017. I did a two-month trial on it and I used it once a day for 2 months. I took before and after pictures and there was no difference in my skin from the before to the after after 2 months. I wasn't willing to plunk down another $295 for another bottle of it. Plus, can I tell you the stuff stinks? It smells like death and putting that on my face every day I was like no thank you. Plus it didn't do anything for the price that they're asking for."
"They did send me the ZIIP Halo. I know everyone's like, oh, is the ZIIP Halo better? It's the same. The difference between the original ZIIP and the ZIIP Halo is that with the original ZIIP you had to download the app in order to use it. With the ZIIP Halo you don't need the app to use it, it has a little light ring around it that tells you when you're making good contact with your skin, but other than that it's the exact same. They didn't increase the strength, they didn't redesign it at all."
"Having used the Qure Micro Infusion System three times, I'm not sure that I'm really seeing that big of a difference in my skin, and I know 100% for sure that I didn't enjoy using it. Did not enjoy the serum. There's so much left, I'm not sure you really get that much delivered into your skin. I think this set was something like $179 for the six treatments. As far as not being able to use your regular skin care for a few days before, a few days after, didn't really love that. Don't love the feel of their serum. I definitely recommend if you're going to do this, do it at night, put the serum on, go to bed. I don't enjoy poking my face with the holes, micro needling. It does hurt a bit, it hurts the most on the forehead and around the eyes."
"My thoughts are I do not love this mask. The main thing that I don't like about it is these cryoglow pads right here underneath the eyes. As I said, under my eyes is an area that I really want to anti-age. It's an area that really shows all that fine lines, crepiness, wrinkles. And instead of giving you bulbs there, this gives you these cryotherapy patches. It's just so clunky and so heavy with so much wasted space inside. It's very uncomfortable. What I do like about this mask is it's got 160 bulbs of the red, the near infrared, and the blue light. Not my favorite. Kind of a fail for me."
