What the gurus are saying

The retinoid in this cream earns consistent praise for delivering visible smoothness and addressing fine lines without the irritation gurus typically expect from vitamin A products around the eyes. Reviewers found it moisturizing and gentle enough for nightly use, though the active ingredient does mean those new to retinoids may want to start with one or two nights a week and build up slowly, particularly if layering it over a barrier balm first to ease tolerance.

"This is their HPR Eye Cream. Love this. Now, some of you find this a little bit irritating because it does have hydropenic cologne retinoate, which is a vitamin A derivative. So, go slow. Just put a little bit on once a week and then if your skin can tolerate it, especially in that thin under eye area, increase to twice a week and so on and so on. A little hack you could do is put a little bit of the barrier night mask on in your under eye area and then pop on the HPR. That might be a great way to build up your tolerance more slowly."

"I much prefer the HPR Eye Cream by DRMTLGY, it has a little bit of vitamin A, hydro peptide, retinol, and it actually makes my under eyes look a lot better because it's non-irritating. You've got to find a formula that works for you and your skin, everyone is just a little bit different."

"I ran out of this and switched over to another eye cream that I've been testing for you guys and I cannot wait to get back to this. One of my favorite all-time products that they launched I believe it was this past fall is their DRMTLGY HPR Eye Cream. HPR stands for hydro retinol pentagolic retinoate, so it's a vitamin A derivative. I cannot wait to get back to this in my evening skincare routine because I absolutely love this eye cream. I honestly think it made a difference."

"Eye creams, I absolutely love using an eye cream. Is it necessary in your skincare routine? No, but I really feel like it works nicely to hydrate the under eye before I put my concealer on. At nighttime I'm using the HPR, this is hydropenic collagen retinoate by DRMTLGY. It's super hydrating, and it's gently exfoliating to kind of help build collagen and elastin in the under eye area. This is one of my two favorites and a holy grail."

"The DRMTLGY HPR Eye Cream has an ingredient called hydroxypolone retinoid, which is a newer retinoid that is more gentle but yet powerful and it really does work. Retinoids are great for targeting a lot of skin issues like texture, crepiness, fine lines and wrinkles and it really helps to rejuvenate the skin. I love eye creams that contain retinoids because the skin is so thin and delicate and it's one of the areas where we do start to see premature aging. This would be a great product to use every night around the eyes. If you're unsure how your skin is going to adjust with this, then I would say start with one or two nights per week and then gradually increase your usage from there. There's other ingredients in here like pumpkin seed oil, peptides, and glycerin. It is very moisturizing and quite repairing around the eyes."

"Nice and comfortable, this really is moisturizing. It's lightweight, it's non-greasy, and I really do feel like this is a great option especially if you have crows feet, fine lines, some texture underneath the eyes. You're looking to brighten up that skin underneath the eyes, and if you do have dark circles or discoloration, then of course this eye cream can help with that as well with consistent use."
6 BEST ANTI-AGING EYE CREAMS 2023 | SKINCARE OVER 30
"This contains peptides, so I use it at night time and I don't pair up anything else with it. I don't use a separate eye serum beforehand, I just use this because it really is sufficient on its own, and I love the results I've seen so far with it. It really helps with texture, crepiness, softening crow's feet, it keeps everything nice and smooth, and my under eyes have never been smoother since using this. The cream is very rich and it really does keep the skin nice and comfortable. It can be used twice a day, but I would start with once a day and gradually increase, because we're all different, even though they say it's gentle. I've never experienced dryness or irritation with it. I did use it once in my morning routine, not paired with makeup, just with sunscreen, and it worked fine, no peeling whatsoever, but when there are retinols and other active ingredients in my skincare products I generally like to keep those for nighttime, so I use this at night. It comes with a nice pump style packaging, all you need is one little pump for both eyes and that's sufficient. I put this underneath the brow bone, I don't go too much onto my eyelids because I don't want dryness there in case that ever happened, been there done that, not fun."
BEST ANTI-AGING EYE PRODUCTS THAT TIGHTEN, LIFT, REDUCE PUFFINESS, DARK CIRCLES AND MORE!
"You'll see how nicely this spreads. There is a little bit of a yellow tone to it, which is quite common when you're using something with a retinoid. That's half a pump, and you can see how nicely it spreads. This is not greasy or sticky on the skin. It will dry down skin-like and it leaves your skin feeling really moisturized. So if you have really dry under eyes, I think you're going to really enjoy this one. I also have a discount code with DRMTLGY, 20% off."
MY NIGHTTIME ANTI-AGING SKINCARE ROUTINE | P.M. WINTER SKINCARE ROUTINE | OVER 30 SINCERELY MISS ASH
"I'm going in with the DRMTLGY HPR Eye Cream. This is one of their newest products, came out back in late '23. HPR is actually one of the newest retinoids, so they say it's more effective than your traditional retinol but less irritating, more gentle. From my experience using this, it's really gentle. I've never had any irritation or dryness, but I've also been using a lot of actives around my eyes for a very long time, so maybe my eye area is just accustomed to actives that I don't experience irritation. But we're all different, so please be cautious, maybe start with one or two days a week and then gradually increase from there. This formulation also has peptides in it, and it's also very moisturizing, especially for the winter months. I just put one little pump on my ring finger and that amount will do both of my eyes, so less is more. I gently spread that around the eye area, going underneath the brow bone a little bit, on the lid, not too much, and then just tap everything in until it's absorbed. I don't generally use this eye cream in the morning because it does contain that retinoid, so I strictly keep this for nighttime."

"The HPR Eye Cream really works quicker and works better, and I like the ingredients a lot more. The formulation has an ingredient called hydroxy pinacolone retinoid, which is one of the newest retinols in the skincare world. It's powerful but yet very gentle, and from my experience with this eye cream I have not experienced any dryness or irritation with that delicate skin. The formulation also contains peptides, which is great, there's also vitamin E, and the list goes on. You are getting 47 grams of product, and it performs really well."
BEAUTY EMPTIES 2025 || SKINCARE AND HAIRCARE PRODUCT'S I'VE USED UP - PROJECT PAN
"This is a really nice one. It's also very moisturizing, it's not drying. I've never experienced sensitivities with this, although you could, there's always that possibility, especially if you have more of that sensitive skin. But I like this one more than the advanced eye cream because this one is way more effective, so yes, I would consider purchasing this one again in the future. And I forgot to mention that there are peptides in the HPR Eye Cream as well."
BEST EYE CREAMS FOR ANTI-AGING | 2024 | DARK CIRCLES, PUFFINESS, FINE LINES/WRINKLES | OVER 30
"The other eye cream that I've been really enjoying, and actually I was enjoying this last year as well, as I do believe I featured this in the best eye creams for 2023, is the DRMTLGY HPR eye cream, and I still really enjoy this and I still use this quite a bit, especially in my nighttime routine. The reason why I like this a lot is because this contains an ingredient called hydroxypinacolone retinoate, which is actually one of the newest retinoids in the retinoid world, and it's effective but yet gentle, gentle enough for those that have sensitive skin around the eyes. In my opinion and from my experience with using this, I don't find this one to be as powerful and as fast acting as the Mirad one, but if you know for sure you couldn't handle the Mirad because you're just thinking it's going to be too strong, then I would say go with this one instead, because this is very gentle. I truly believe this one will be more gentle even for those that have sensitive skin. I would say go with this one prior to the Mirad if you are very sensitive around the eyes. Now this also has two peptides, which are also great to firm the skin and to address fine lines and wrinkles."
