"If you want a dedicated product in your skincare routine for these lip lines, the one that I personally use and recommend to my patients is this one. It is by Dermelect, it is called the Smooth Upper Lip and Perioral Anti-Aging Treatment. The reason that I specifically love and recommend this one, well there's really five main reasons. First of all, this has Matrixyl 3000 in it, which is the most powerful blend of peptides that can build new collagen. So that's what's going to plump the lip up, prevent those wrinkles from forming, and then help plump and kind of smooth out those fine lines. I love Matrixyl 3000 for anti-aging, and another benefit of that is that it's really great for sensitive skin or in sensitive areas of the face like around the eyes and around the mouth. I've never used a dedicated product for the upper lip, but we do get those barcode lines and anything I can do to soften that area I'm all about. This does have some dedicated hydrating ingredients that probably will plump up the nasolabial folds and upper lip lines. It contains arbutin, Matrixyl 3000 which is a peptide complex, retinol, and GABA to tighten, as well as hyaluronic acid. It goes right above the lip area and along the nasolabial folds. I haven't noticed a huge difference, but it is slightly plumping. That said, I do have a little problem with the applicator. This little rollerball keeps kind of coming off, and the product comes out really quickly, so you need to be very gentle if you're trying to dispense a small amount. It comes out very quickly and you can't lock it, so when I store it a lot of the product gets into the cap. There are a few packaging problems with this in my opinion."
