First of all, let's talk about the ingredients: it contains 10% ginseng and 2% retinol in a liposomal formulation that really helps to effectively deliver the ingredients and reduce the irritation. Eye cream is something that I enjoy using. I use it mostly at night as a part of my anti-aging regimen. So it's packaged in enough product that you can certainly use it on your entire face. We've got macadamia nut oil, ceramide and peptide. Wonderful product. Highly recommend it. Most of these other ones you can use everywhere on your eye but because of the retinal in here you only want to use around the eyes, not on the eyelids or up by the brow."

"A lot of people use this all over the face because you get a lot of product, 30 mil, which is a standard serum size, I like that, I'm done with these tiny eye creams where you get a small amount but pay top dollar. This is going to last you the best part of six months. You can use it all over as a retinoid or use it as an eye cream, which is what I personally do. "The reviews on Sephora for these are not great because people hate how they smell, and I get it, it smells so familiar, probably ginseng, and it's a pretty strong smell even though it's labeled fragrance-free. It doesn't gross me out though, it's more like the smell of walking into an herbal store, which I actually like. My real issue is that these slip and slide so much, they're a really big, unique shape, but I feel like I have to keep reapplying them over and over because they just slip. "The Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum with ginseng and retinal is another one where I wholeheartedly agree with the award. What I love so much about this is that it makes retinaldehyde, this superior retinoid option, available to people. We've had retinaldehyde in the west but in products that were over $100, this is somewhere between 10 and 20 depending on where you're shopping. It's called an eye serum but you can use it all over your face, the reason I don't is because I use adapalene and I cannot use adapalene in my eye area, so I use this retinal there instead. I am able to use this on my eye area, and I again love the accessibility here."

"This has ten percent ginseng, and though they aren't telling us a lot about the ginseng saponins, it's probably fresh ginseng rather than the more expensive aged ginseng, so it's still a fraction of the price of something like Sulwhasoo. What it does have is point two percent retinaldehyde, and when it comes to ingredients with lots of peer reviewed literature backing them up there's just nothing that tops retinoic acid. Over the counter retinol takes two conversions in your skin to get to retinoic acid, whereas retinaldehyde only takes one, so in my personal opinion this is a product that dare I say is stronger than a lot of the retinol products we have in the west, the expensive ones like Peter Thomas Roth or Dr. Dennis Gross. I genuinely think this is likely to compare to the results of those, if not give you even better results, and it's a very very affordable serum. This one is safe enough to use around the eyes."

"Beauty of Joseon, it's a Korean brand I have recommended their Revive Eye Serum in many videos. This product not only is marketed for use around the eyes to improve the appearance of the signs of aging around the eyes like fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, but also can be used on the entire face. It's free of fragrance. It also has niacinamide, an ingredient that is likewise helpful for dark spots. Niacinamide works to get in the way of transfer of pigment packets from the pigment-producing cells, the melanocytes, to the neighboring keratinocytes. Niacinamide is also very good for the moisture barrier and it's an antioxidant. This product is also formulated with ceramides, lipids found in skin's outermost protective layer, and applying those to the skin can help improve lipid production, ceramide production in the skin, improving barrier function. You can start to notice an improvement in skin smoothness around four to six weeks, then around eight to sixteen weeks you might start seeing some lightening of sunspots or dark discoloration around the eyes, and around sixteen weeks you may notice a diminishment in the appearance of fine lines. It also has niacinamide, which helps lighten sunspots and improve the moisture barrier, and licorice root extract, which is anti-inflammatory and helps with brightening and redness. It's really great, I actually continue to use it on my eyelids, I don't use my prescription retinoid there, and I really like it, no dry eyes."

"This is the Beauty of Joseon Revive Ginseng Plus Retinol Eye Serum, a retinaldehyde serum. Retinaldehyde is typically pretty well tolerated as a topical vitamin A and it's usually one of the more expensive actives, but this is pretty inexpensive for a retinaldehyde, it's $17, though right now it's on sale for $10.99. What I like about this is that it can be used not only around the eyes but on the face, so the formula is well tolerated around the eyes but also works on the face, which cuts down on the number of products you need. It also has ceramide, which helps the moisture barrier, and peptides, which act as a humectant to improve the moisture content of the skin. It does yield a nice, almost immediate wrinkle smoothing effect, likely from the humectants, and with long term consistent use the retinaldehyde converts to retinoic acid, which helps improve collagen production for a longer lasting skin firming and wrinkle smoothing effect. This is the most expensive product in this video."

"I've got to say I actually really enjoy this product a lot. It is on the oily side, it feels a little greasy, oily, which doesn't surprise me since retinaldehyde is an oil loving ingredient, possibly related to the macadamia seed oil. It does have an oilier feel to it which you may or may not like, and it's a bit of a heavier texture, but it does stay in place well, it doesn't migrate into the eyes. I would definitely purchase it because not only does it appear to be effective as a moisturizer, at least for around the eyes, I do think that it's an effective retinaldehyde. This company is quite good, and it's ten to thirteen dollars depending on where you buy it, which is a reasonable price point. There's no fragrance in it either, which I think is a good move."

"This is the Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum with retinol and ginseng and I'm rating this a star. I love this so much, ever since it was released and I did my review on it, this has been a part of my eye cream routine. This is something I don't use every single night, this is only something like two, three times a week, especially with this one it's like when I remember to use it because it is not my daily eye cream. But I really like this, it's something that helps with under eye darkness and I feel like it has actually given me more meaningful results than other eye creams. Even though it's called an eye cream, it can be used on other parts of the body or the face because it has this really beautiful gel-like consistency, so it's really light. It's one of my favorite products for neck and chest care because it does contain retinol dehydrogenase, we're getting collagen stimulation here as well as brightening and skin cell turnover, and it just supports all the things associated with our skin aging and helping to slow that process down. I really like this because it's gentle. It is formulated first for the eye area but second as a much more gentle retinal experience for other parts of the body."

"This has a lighter gel-like consistency. So, it actually absorbs in the skin really nicely. It does have a bit of hydration to it. So, there is a tiny bit of plumping. Not a lot, but just a little bit. It sinks in the skin really nicely without any residue greasiness at the surface. So it's not going to overwhelm the area or make it feel like your eyelids are all greasy. In my personal experience, I do have sensitive skin all over my face. And my eye area can be particularly sensitive. I have no problems tolerating this under the eye area and then even in the corner, the upper corners here around my crows feet. I can tolerate the serum pretty well right here. And I have been using this for many years now at this point. If you don't know whether your upper eyelids are sensitive to this type of product, try it out. But be aware that you could feel some irritation, some slight inflammation, some redness, some kind of itchiness with that. You can just discontinue the use on the lids and just use under the eye. What's really great about this and that makes it unique from different just generally eye cream products is that they're giving you 30 milliliter of product. That's pretty big for an eye cream. That's actually the size of a serum."

"I'm a fan of this. I think it's a really nice take on retinal and it's retinal dehydrogenase, not retinol spelled with an O. I think it's a really great match between retinal dehydrogenase and ginseng. I love ginseng in eye creams, it's something that really helps to just like the name suggests revive the eye area. It helps to increase the blood circulation which can make you look a lot more refreshed and awake. The addition of the retinal dehydrogenase is really very good for targeting fine lines, wrinkles, loss of firmness and elasticity, and it is also a brightening ingredient as well. I think it's a really smart formulation. I love the gel cream type of texture that sinks into the skin really nicely. It works well for a lot of different skin types. It's not going to feel super overwhelming, it's really easy to spread. This is a fairly generous size, I believe it's about 30 ml of product, so that's pretty big for an eye cream. This is a great beginner retinal or retinoid product if you wanted to use this all over your face. It's gentle because it's formulated for the eye area."

"The texture is not sticky, it's not greasy, it's not overwhelming my skin. I'm so prone to breakouts on my chest skin and I can't put a lot of skincare there, but this actually helps to take the congestion down because of that skin cell turnover benefit. It's a very flexible product in that way. It's a little bit bigger than a traditional eye cream product, about 30 milliliters, which is really essentially the size of a serum. It's a very gentle retinaldehyde formulation, and they do say that you can use it for the delicate skin under your eye, but they also encourage you to use it as a kind of gentle beginner retinaldehyde for all over your face. I have found a lot of particular use for neck and chest. Retinaldehyde, which is in this product, is a form of a retinoid or retinol, and it's actually a little bit more potent than your traditional retinol."

This is actually using retinal aldehyde, it's a little bit more potent than your retinal spelled with an O, works a little bit faster for the skin. It's actually one of my favorite traditional K Beauty ingredients for the eye area because it really helps to address darkness. It has been intended for eye use first, but there's a secondary use of being able to use it as a full face cream as well. Eye creams really target fine lines and wrinkles and aging, so why not get that not just in the eye area but all over your face. The benefit is when things are formulated for the eye area they're gentler, they're not as aggressive, and so this is a great first step into retinal for a lot of folks. It's also a great step into retinal for sensitive folks."

"This is the Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum, 10 out of 10. I have had multiple empties of this throughout the years because I reviewed this back in 2022, and this has been in my routine on and off since then because I really do like this one. It is a retinal-based eye serum and truly it's an eye serum, not a cream, because it has more of a gel-like consistency so it actually absorbs into the eye area really nicely. I do use this on my under eye; I don't really go on top of my lids because it can cause a little bit of irritation for me personally if I go up top too many times. I did stop using this on my under eye when fall rolled around because I've been getting very dry under my eyes during the winter time. I love this, it's so great for the eye area, it's very brightening especially with the ginseng in here, and it's great for anti-aging goals. I love the multi-use and the bigger size of this so I often use this a lot on my neck and chest to help stimulate collagen there and fight the fine lines and wrinkles and the loss of skin firmness. This is a really great multi-purpose type of product."

"I'm going to be using Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye Serum: Ginseng + Retinal. It's this lovely like gel cream. I love that because it's not like that stiff, buttery type of eye cream. I love how this just sinks into the skin and it just absorbs really nicely. If you caught my review of this quite a few months ago, I cannot tolerate this on top of my lids. I can put it underneath, which is fine because that's where I need the retinol to hide benefits, but I can't tolerate it on the top of my lid. So I have to be careful and mindful. I do sometimes forget and just when I'm slapping skincare on and I do run it over my lids, it's okay once or twice, but if I'm consistently doing it that area gets really raw feeling and red and puffy. So whenever you're using something like an aggressive active, you do want to wash your hands before you move on to your next layer because there is always the potential that you're going to transfer some of this to other areas. It can travel and you can cause irritation."

This is one of the most potent K beauty products that I've ever used, but the good news is that it goes on sale and it works. "What I have been using and I've been obsessed with is this from Beauty of Joseon. This is a retinol eye bomb with ginseng and retinol. It is basically a K Beauty super potent retinaldehyde serum. I use it on my nasolabial folds, marionette lines, crow's feet, and all over literally as my night retinoid."

"I personally use this all over my face including on my dynamic forehead wrinkles and marionette lines. This has retinaldehyde which is the gold standard in dermatology for fine lines and wrinkles. It's extraordinarily plumping and it does help with fine lines and wrinkles. The beauty of Joseon is vegan and cruelty free which is very hard to find in retinaldehyde products. It also has ceramides, niacinamide, and ginseng which acts as an antioxidant. Over a few weeks of regular use you start to see the under eyes look brighter, less wrinkled, less saggy and crinkly. It also works a little bit for darkness and pigmentation in the under eye area, but this is my number one choice for wrinkles. I've gone through multiple bottles, I'm eager and I love it."

"This is from Beauty of Joseon and this is so good. This doesn't have retinol but this has retinaldehyde so it's even more potent than the Neutrogena stuff but it's still gentle. This also has antioxidants and ceramides, which are nourishing and can be plumping to the skin, so good if you have fine lines or wrinkles. This is one of the best eye creams I've ever come across. Again, you can use this all over your face which is what I personally do. Even if you have milia, this tends to have ingredients that are more milia-safe so it doesn't cause those little pearls that kind of ball up under the skin."

"I was really excited about trying this one out because of the ingredients. Ginseng is their star ingredient here because it's been shown to target wrinkles and it is really popular in Korean skincare. There's also retinol with an A and this is a stronger form of vitamin A that converts to retinoic acid in just one step and so it is as close to tretinoin as you can get in a cosmetic product. Retinoids are like the gold standard ingredients in skincare. The retinol is 0.02 which I think is like a nice low to medium intensity. This is one of the most inexpensive retinol products I've seen. If you're looking for a general retinol product to try, this one is a really good option. You might want to look out for irritation though, as strong retinoids do tend to make you go a bit flaky and go through an adjustment period as your skin kind of rebuilds itself."
