What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as an affordable, nourishing body lotion with a pleasant texture that spreads easily and absorbs without stickiness. The main appeal is using it on neglected areas like the neck, chest, hands, and elbows where facial retinol might be too strong or expensive. The split: some see noticeable firming and tone improvement with regular use, while others appreciate the hydration but question whether the retinol concentration delivers meaningful anti-aging results. All agree it's a solid value option for body-focused skincare.

"The gentle retinol body lotion is fantastic. If you're looking for something budget that actually is lovely and works, try this. If you want to kind of bump things up because this also has AHAs and BHAs. So, it has the 1% or 0.1% pure retinol, then 10% AHA, peptides, vitamins, and glycerin. This is kind of closer to the Iota, kind of a one and one for your retinol night. So, these are both great formulas for the body."

"This body moisturizer is equally lovely. It contains encapsulated retinol at .1%, so a good concentration, along with other ingredients like cocoa butter, squalane, vitamin E, and all around is just a nourishing creamy texture but not sticky, not heavy, and really ideal for individuals who are seeking anti-aging concerns on the chest and neck and other places like the hands but find either facial products to be too irritating or really they're too expensive and you certainly don't want to use it in these areas. This body lotion would be really good for that. In fact, that is how I used it. I put this on my neck, on my chest, on my hands at night to really target these areas of concern because they also age, if not faster, compared to our face. And so we spend all this time taking care of our face but the other parts may be neglected and that can really show your true age. So this body lotion is great to use all over or to target areas where you need to."

"The Versed Press Restart Gentle Retinol Body Lotion has retinol in about the same amount as Gold Bond based on where it is on the ingredient list, probably less than one percent. It has squalane and cocoa butter instead of shea butter, and vitamin E. I'd say it's a little bit heavier and more emollient compared to some others. I do like it, but I have not repurchased it."

"I liked it and it's pretty reasonable, I think it's about 18 at Target now. Did I notice a massive difference with the inclusion of the retinol? I kind of didn't. I thought it was lovely. It takes a long time to rub it in, which is not a problem for me whatsoever. My skin felt soft. I thought it was hydrating. I don't know if those retinol benefits were there as much as I was hoping they would be. I thought it was fine."

"This does a really good job even on the feet, and if you have a lot of creepiness on your elbows or your knees this is another fabulous product just to treat those areas. This can really help to firm the skin with continuous use. It has kept my skin nice and comfortable and nice and moisturized. I really haven't seen too much of a difference in terms of the fine lines that I have but it really has helped with the tone of my skin. I also love that cocoa butter, the squalene and the vitamin E because these are just additional ingredients that are going to keep the skin nice and comfortable. It's a true lotion so it's not too runny but it's also not too thick either. A little bit goes a long way especially if you're just treating your neck and your chest area, and it spreads nice and absorbs quickly. It gives your skin that nice moisture feel and my sunscreen has sat nicely on top of this as well."
