What the gurus are saying

Experts praise the formula for being gentler around the eyes thanks to its stabilized retinol form, making it a solid pick for those new to retinol in that area. The cream hydrates and plumps well and costs little, though one dermatologist noted the packaging would work better as an airless pump to keep the retinol stable longer. Those planning to use retinol near the eyes may want to start here and ease in slowly, since the eye area is sensitive.

"The Inkey List, which comes in at $14, has a retinol eye cream as well. It does have hyaluronic acid."

"The Inkey List also has one for 10 bucks. They have a supposedly stabilized slow release retinoid formula that avoids irritation. I haven't tried it, but I've seen it and I actually have it in my house in Connecticut. I've just never tried theirs."

"The Inkey List has a specially designed retinol eye cream which is actually fantastic for that area if you're going to be using retinol around the eyes. Maybe you want to use some encapsulated retinols that will help just resurface and exfoliate the skin so that you get down to that base and also it can help reduce the appearance of milia as well."

"The Inkey List retinol eye cream, it's basically a moisturizer plus retinol. I like it but it would be better if it was an airless pump."

"The formula is quite hydrating and plumping, and it's a great drugstore option. This is really nice underneath your sunscreen and makeup. If you're looking for a good affordable eye cream that contains that retinol ingredient, something to really help with fine lines, texture, and tone, then this really is a lovely option to go with. However, I'm not going to be purchasing this at the moment just because my go-to is eye serums and I have a lot of eye serums that I need to use up first. I don't need to pick up another one at this time, but this would be one that I would refer back to down the road for sure."

"I tried some of their eye creams such as the caffeine eye cream and the retinol eye cream, and while I can say that about the caffeine and the retinoid one, yes this is so good."

"The Inky List also has a specific retinol eye cream that is far more gentle. It has a different stabilized form of retinol in it that will not be irritating to the delicate skin here."
