What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise this serum for fast, dramatic results on severely depleted skin, with noticeable improvement in flakiness and rawness within days. The main split is about long-term use: while it excels as an intensive repair treatment, those prone to congestion or with combination skin report it becomes too occlusive and triggers breakouts once the barrier heals. Consensus is this works best as a targeted short-term fix, not daily maintenance. Price is high but reviewers consider results worth it.

"This serum was so so helpful. My skin was feeling quite dry and it immediately just mended up the peeling skin. I was very very impressed with this. I really do recommend this product for damaged moisture barriers, really vulnerable weak skin, skin that has been through it and needs repair. To me this isn't really a barrier maintenance product, you absolutely could use it that way, but it really is something that you reach for when your skin is in the worst state. This really helped it get back to where it needed to be. This product is a little rich for me. It does have a creamy texture, it's not like a loose runny gel cream texture, it's a true cream type of texture. With all those lipids in the formula that really helped to repair the skin, it can be a little bit overwhelming for certain skin types. For me I am a little bit congestion prone."

"I was really surprised at how fast it worked. Within just a few applications the flakiness was going away, within about maybe 5 days maybe a week that rawness was really gone, almost completely. Within a week my skin was feeling so much stronger. Within two weeks my skin was feeling great. I was very impressed with not only how this worked for my skin but how fast it worked. After week two I noticed that my skin was starting to get very congested while I had this in my skincare routine morning and night. I think this may not be an everyday type of serum for my personal skin. I do have combination skin and I am congestion prone, and I think this was just a little bit too much lipids, just a little bit too much emolliency. Once my skin had gotten nice and strong again I think it was just too much for me, so I did discontinue use and within a few days that congestion did go down. I do want to put that warning out there for those who may be prone to too much emolliency or prone to congestion or maybe acne prone, this may not be the perfect thing for you. But I'm really seeing this serum as that very strong healer for very, very, very depleted, deficient moisture barriers."

I am leaning very dry right now in the winter but I do have combination skin, and I am congestion prone, so I think this was just a little bit too much lipids, just a little bit too much emolliency. But I'm seeing this serum as that very strong healer for very, very depleted, deficient moisture barriers. I was very impressed with how fast this worked, how it really helped to mend up the skin, and it helped to address the multiple symptoms: the irritation, the inflammation, the rawness, the flakiness, the dehydration."

"I use this as a nighttime moisturizer and I really like it. I like the pump on this because I can get every last bit out. I would repurchase this. It's pricey, but I would repurchase it. I was able to get three of these little samples through Sephora which ended up adding up to the size of the full size, which is like 70 or 80 bucks or something expensive, so I was pretty happy with that."
