What the gurus are saying

Gurus overwhelmingly endorse this as a gentle, well-tolerated retinol option for the eye area, with consistent praise for its lightweight texture, fast absorption, and effectiveness on fine lines and crow's feet. The community highlights it as an accessible alternative to stronger retinoids like tretinoin, suitable for sensitive skin and beginners. One dissenting voice argues it overstates its ability to address dark circles and wrinkles without supporting ingredients like tyrosine inhibitors or collagen stimulators. Most reviewers stress it requires careful application away from the inner eye and lash line.

"I'm personally using the RoC retinol eye cream just because pigmentation's not so much of an issue for me. I wanted my main ingredient to be retinol and I really trust RoC around my eyes. I have very sensitive eyes and ocular rosacea, so RoC retinol eye cream does a better job for me."

"My other eye cream I use very often and I'm on probably third or fourth bottle just recently is the RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream. If I want something really more focused on fine lines and texture, I'll use this retinol eye cream instead. It's a really nice option because it gives you the benefit of a retinoid, but it's formulated for the eyes, so it's not going to cause too much dryness like your tretinoin would."
Milia: What Those White Bumps Really Are (And Why You Shouldn't Pop Them)
"The RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream helps smooth fine lines and crows feet around the eyes using a really low, well tolerated retinol, making it really good option for patients who want anti-aging benefits without really heavy textures. It supports skin turnover, which can help prevent millia by reducing keratin buildup over time. It's also super lightweight, super fast absorbing compared to a lot of the other eye creams I've tried. And this lowers the risk of occlusion related millia. The key ingredient is the retinol which helps improve that cell turnover, smooths the fine lines, helps prevent keratin from being trapped underneath the skin."
Are Eye Creams a Scam? A Dermatologist Reveals the Truth! | Dr. Aleksandra Brown
"It reduces lines and wrinkles in as little as one week, boosts elasticity and improves sagging for a more youthful look. It's designed for minimal irritation with a targeted delivery system. The key ingredients here are encapsulated retinol and ginseng root extract. The RoC Retinol Correxion targets three signs of eye aging: the dark circles, the de-puffing, and it's clinically proven to reduce the look of eye wrinkles by up to 50%. It's designed for dramatic results but it's gentle enough for daily use around the delicate eye area. The key ingredient is retinol, which is one of the most well-studied retinoids on the market. There was significant improvement in collagen density and thickness after about 8 weeks of use. RoC has over 50 clinical studies to show this. I recommend this a lot in the clinic."

"I would repurchase this again in a heartbeat. At night time I prefer eye cream with retinol. This is a little bit on the pricier end. It also contains alpha hydroxy acids in addition to retinol, so if your skin is super sensitive I wouldn't recommend it. I personally haven't had a problem with it. It will help build collagen, elastin, and tighten the delicate skin around the eyes."

"They also make an eye cream in this line that is a little bit different as far as the texture. Performs very well. Likewise, you experience that tingling around the eyes, but not excessive dryness and irritation. This is one that always is here."

"RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream is their bestselling product and I can see why. I've been recommending this a lot to my patients over the years. It's a gentle retinol product that patients have used around the eyes. I'm okay with retinol, over-the-counter retinol products around the eyes, especially those that are formulated for the eyelid skin. Just use a small amount for around the eyes and use your ring finger to gently tap in the product."

The Five Best Anti-Aging Products a Dermatologist Actually Buys
"This very popular $20 retinal eye cream yes it looks very small but it's formulated really well for the eye. I think it might be RoC's number one selling product. They have studies, which is very rare in the skin care world, working on dark circles and puffiness and also the fine lines around the eyes. I'd say out of everything the fine lines like the crow's feet you'll get the best results for that. And if you don't want to do Botox then go ahead and start using a retinol, a gentle retinol eye cream around the eyes."

The Best Retinoids of 2025
"It's so easy to put on and my wife put it on and she said she loves the way it adheres. It's just skin forming, adherent, just adapts to the different contours of your face so well. And I have to say that that's the biggest challenge is to get a nice product that will give you that glow without the irritation because a lot of times people associate irritation with a retinoid. And so if we can go at it in a gentle way and have something a little bit more potent than retinol, to work on the crepiness and the fine lines and wrinkles and the crows feet around the eyes, this is your go-to."

"In terms of eye creams, the only retinol eye cream that I have used personally the longest without irritation and my patients is RoC Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream. You can apply it within the orbital bone but be very careful. I would moisturize with it, be careful of irritation, do not get it within your conjunctival lid, not too close to the eye. Keep that in mind. That's probably the only retinol that I've used consistently without any issue to help with any crepiness underneath the eye and then also just the eyelid itself can get wrinkly over time."

"Another one that I really love more affordable price by Rock is the Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Eye Cream. This has retinol, not retinol, so not as strong. Better if you are a beginner or have really sensitive skin or you just want something more affordable that still works."

"The eye cream of choice is the RoC Retinol eye cream. And this is so good. During the day I apply the vitamin C one, at night I apply this particular retinol one. Someone asked me in the comments if this is the same as Beauty of Joseon. They are different. Beauty of Joseon has a mild retinal plus caffeine plus something else. This is a very different formula. And if you ask me personally what I prefer and what works for me, RoC forever. Not forever until I find something better."

"Glides very easily. This one retails from around $98 but a little bit goes a very long way and it should last you at least 2 to 3 months."

"It's going to help with the puffiness but it's not going to help with your dark circles or wrinkles because there aren't any tyrosine inhibitors in here at all and the only thing that's going to help with fine lines are the peptides and generally peptides work best in conjunction with other collagen stimulators. I'm only going to give this product a three out of 10 because it only helps with the puffiness, a third of the claims. It does penetrate nicely and quickly into the skin but you're not getting much for this one."

"The RoC retinol eye cream, I'm bothered that I like that one so much because this is a brand that's not super transparent with the concentration encapsulation, so I love it. It's been extremely good for gentle sensitive skin, which I don't really have, but my wife does and she's been tolerating it fine. So that has actually been a game changer in my household for retinol products."
