What the gurus are saying

This cream leaves a distinctive glossy, glass-skin finish without feeling oily or heavy, making it work well during both day and night and especially on friction-prone areas like the neck. The 10% panthenol concentration, paired with niacinamide and soothing ingredients, earns praise from those managing redness, irritation, or a compromised barrier, though a few people have reported it clogged their pores so those prone to congestion may want to patch-test first.

"Out of all nine products this feels the most lightweight, like a body lotion, never sticky, and it absorbs really well even though it has 10% panthenol. I expected a panthenol moisturizer to be thicker but they made it lightweight enough to use every day. If your skin barrier is really bad you need something more, some more medicine, because I felt this wasn't enough on its own. But if you want to take care of a weak skin barrier through all seasons, this will be great, and I'd recommend it more for teenagers, people in their 20s, young skin, oily combo skin, or guys."

"Panthenol creams are usually good for the skin barrier but tend to be too heavy and thick for oily combo skin. This one I can confidently recommend for oily combo or acne prone skin because it feels more like a light gel, very lightweight, and kind of cooling. If you live somewhere tropical, it is worth trying, it lives up to the hype."

"This one is so hot on TikTok, they renewed the packaging. It has 10% panthenol, bamboo extract, and squalane, but to be honest I do not see that difference with other moisturizers. This kind of moisturizer you can find everywhere, and I do not feel like the moisturizing lasts that long. If you have dry skin I highly recommend going with a much richer one instead, for normal skin S.Nature is a lot better. This one is not for me."

"I give this one a 10 out of 10. It's pretty good for most skin types. Purio is putting out some amazing products. If you have sensitive skin, this one's a nice one worth checking out. I definitely would recommend it."

"This Purito Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream just disappears into my skin, it feels incredibly hydrating, soothing and calming. Panthenol is my favorite of the B vitamins for skincare, bring on the 10% panthenol. It's a beautiful product with a beautiful ingredients list, they say it strengthens the moisture barrier to reinforce moisture retention and it certainly feels like it does."

"Purito has been doing some good stuff these days. The Mighty Bamboo Panthenol Cream [...] has a nice glossy finish to it, which I really like. It's soothing. It's great for very irritated skin. [...] If you're dealing with a lot of sensitivity issues and you're trying to heal, [...] this would be a great option as a facial moisturizer at night. It has this nice glossy saucy finish to it, so you feel like you're getting a little something something luxe there. And it works really well on the body, too."

"It's a great no-nonsense fragrance-free facial moisturizer that really actually looks good on the skin. It's not an oily emollient, but it gives the skin that kind of gloss and it helps lubricate the skin surface. So really good on the neck where you have a lot more friction that can contribute to barrier issues, friction like rubbing of a necklace [...] or a scarf in the winter time. [...] It's the only one here without ceramides."

"This cream has a really interesting texture. It is a lightweight gel with brightening and soothing ingredients. The key ones are 10% panthenol, niacinamide, squalane, and bamboo extract. This is lightly hydrating and it forms a sort of film on skin that stays on really well and gives a glass skin sort of slightly shiny look. I'm actually wearing it right now under my makeup. It has no noticeable scent. I used this as a sleeping mask over my other products to lock them in and it worked really well. I could still feel this there in the morning. And I have seen a few people say that this clogged their pores. I personally didn't have an issue with this, but if you are prone to clogged pores, keep an eye out for that."

"Great soothing ingredients if you're someone who struggles with redness and irritation, as well as peptide complexes. This is just such a stacked ingredient list, especially if you're looking for something to moisturize your skin throughout the winter and really focus on healing or repairing your skin barrier. This is great for that. Of course, in addition to the benefits that bamboo has for fighting against aging, but I love how lightweight it is. This is really like a versatile formula that you can use both during the daytime and nighttime because it gives your skin that splash of hydration, but not overly greasy or heavy. I'm really excited to continue using it."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Source: DermNet

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Source: DermNet

Peptides

Peptides are short protein fragments meant to signal repair. The evidence for them is thinner than for retinoids or vitamin C, and it varies a lot by the specific peptide, so the category is more promising than proven.
