What the gurus are saying

The peptides in this booster earn consistent praise for firming skin and prompting collagen production, with a lightweight gel texture that absorbs quickly and leaves skin plump without heaviness. Most gurus find it pairs well with tretinoin and retinol because of its hydrating formula, which can offset dryness from those actives. A few note the small 20ml bottle means it lasts about a month with twice-daily use at three to four drops per application, and one expert prefers it mixed into another product rather than used alone, though that is not essential. One reviewer felt less impressed compared to newer peptide options, though still calls it a good product.

"Paula's Choice Pro-Peptide Multi-Peptide Booster Serum is lovely. It's lightweight, fast-absorbing, doesn't pill. I use it in the morning on top of my vitamin C and night before my retinoids. I find that for me, serum I can kind of use through my routine more regularly. These are great peptides, pro-collagen peptides that help to improve and support collagen production, amino acids again support skin structure, and then hyaluronic acid. It's fragrance-free, and leaves minimal residue, so really suitable for all skin types, but in particular more mature skin looking for products to help hydrate your skin, support collagen, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles."

"Paula's Choice peptide booster is also really elegant. It contains eight different peptides that can help to support collagen synthesis along with glycerin, amino acids, glutamic acid. Those are really wonderful humectants to plump and hydrate the skin."

"This one's got peptides in there. It's got the Sinhiken peptide which is claimed to boost the synthesis of hyaluronic acid deep down in skin. It's got the Syncol peptide which is supposed to boost collagen in skin. It's also got the Syntax peptide as well as other ingredients. It's really nice. I've repurchased this product a couple times."

"If you're looking for some good peptides, it's a little bit pricey but it's got some really nice ingredients. Paula's Choice collagen peptide booster serum has got a wonderful texture to it, some really nice ingredients, lots of good peptides in here. It applies really easily or you can mix into a moisturizer or just apply it like a serum. It's wonderful, lovely texture is great."
My September Skincare & Beauty Product Empties! What I've Finished Up This Month
"It's very small, 20 milliliters, 0.67 ounces, not meant to be used as a serum per se. It's meant to be mixed in with another product, but to be honest I didn't use it that way. I just applied a couple drops and patted it on my face. I didn't mix it in with anything because it's just too high maintenance for me. I like that there's no fragrance in it. If this had copper peptides in it I'd be all over it, totally all over it, because I can't get enough of my copper peptides lately. No issues with it. Decent product."

"It's not a bad product. Just the Paula's Choice peptide booster. But compared to some of the newer things these days, I'm not as impressed with this one as it once came when it first came out. But I have repurchased it several times."

"I enjoyed this one, the bottle's small although now I see it at TJ Maxx for like 10 bucks so it might be worth it. I've just found other peptide products I really like. I would use this again if I had backup. I'd probably start using it or maybe this would be another good one to mix in with other serums. The thing is I'm really loving this copper peptide serum so it kind of ruined it all because this one's pretty strong at 3%."

"This formulation contains six procollagen peptides. It's quite pricey, I do believe it's around $80 Canadian and $59 American. I really enjoyed this serum when I was using it. There is a little bit of a scent to it from what I can remember because there is an ingredient in it called pyrus molus, it's basically a fruit extract, and I remember when I was using that serum I could smell that but it was very very mild. There's no added fragrance to the serum. It comes in a 20 mil size. You could totally use this serum alongside a moisturizer, so you'd want to apply the serum first and then the moisturizer on top. This type of serum can be used with tretinoin, can be used with retinol, other types of peptide serums, copper peptides. I remember using this serum with those types of ingredients and everything went well, no peeling. It's a serum that isn't sticky or greasy. It's also very lightweight and all you would really need is like four drops for your face and maybe like two drops for your neck."

"I have gone through several bottles of this in the past and I do still recommend it. This contains six procollagen peptides which helps to firm the skin and stimulate new collagen. It also has amino acids as well as hyaluronic acid so this is going to plump and hydrate and maintain a healthy skin barrier. You can use this in the morning or at night time, every day twice a day. This was a serum that I would pair up with tretinoin occasionally or retinol, you can pair up your peptides with those and I really do like it. You're getting 20 mls here though, so if you're someone that quite enjoys that 30 mil size then just know this is a 20 mil size so you might go through it a little quicker. I would say three to four drops would cover your entire face and your neck so this would probably last me like a month if I were to use this every day twice a day or just shy of a month."
3 AMAZING TRETINOIN PAIRINGS FOR MAXIMUM RESULTS | ANTI-AGING, UNEVEN SKIN AND MORE!
"This is from Paula's Choice and this is the Pro-Collagen Multi-Peptide Booster. So this has your peptides but the formula is also quite hydrating, which is why this is one of my favorites to use with tretinoin because, again, as you know this product can be a little drying on the skin, it can create that flakiness, so I like to keep my skin as hydrated as possible when I'm using products like this. And I'm telling you, this pairing really helps to address signs of aging and it really does help with that texture and tone of the skin."

"Another great option for a regular peptide serum would be Paula's Choice Pro-Collagen Multi-Peptide Booster. There's no copper in this one but this one contains multiple peptides so you're getting more than one here and this one is also very lovely it absorbs into the skin it gives your skin this nice plump look to it but also with consistency your skin can appear firmer and it just looks more youthful at the same time."

"This is the Paula's Choice Pro-Collagen Multi-Peptide Booster. I actually never used this, it's the first time that I'm using it. Kind of like a mediumish gel texture, it's not too heavy, it's not really moisturizing, but I can definitely feel that there's a tiny bit of plumpness to this and it feels pretty good."

"Yet another one that I've tried is the Paula's Choice Pro-Collagen Multi-Peptide Booster. Listen, anytime Paula's Choice has a product in the category that you're looking for or has a new product launch, whatever it is, you have to check it out. This brand is one of my favorite skincare brands because their products are just formulated so well. The Paula's Choice product has just a little bit of a thicker texture or consistency, but again it absorbs in really nicely and quickly and finishes very smooth on the skin."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Peptides

Peptides are short protein fragments meant to signal repair. The evidence for them is thinner than for retinoids or vitamin C, and it varies a lot by the specific peptide, so the category is more promising than proven.
