What the gurus are saying

The gurus who reviewed it praise the stabilized vitamin C concentration for brightening the under-eye and working as a protective antioxidant, making it a solid morning option. One expert found other eye serums and creams delivered better results. A thin read so far, but those who liked it spoke particularly to the brightening effect and the stabilized form's dual benefit for the morning routine.

"This is a nice formula that uses some humectant content to give you a little bit more of that slicked out, plumped out, hydrated, smoother appearance. I really like this one for brightening, particularly for the morning. I love the 5% of the stabilized vitamin C I'm getting that brightness that I crave, but I'm also getting some of that collagen stimulation and the antioxidant protection. Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that gives us a little bit of extra protection from damage from the sun. I usually use this morning and night, but since I have a lot of choices with my eye creams I usually reserve this one for the morning when I know it's working super hard for my skin to give that additional protection in addition to sunscreen. In addition to sunscreen in the morning I'm getting a little bit of extra damage protection around that delicate eye area. I just really like this formula. It's very gentle."

"I'm a huge fan of the eye cream. I love vitamin C in an eye cream and this is just that right amount. Five percent of the stabilized form is going to really help to brighten up the under eye if you're suffering with dark under eyes or discoloration. This really gives you that really beautiful brightening benefit, a little bit of firming action too, because just because we're going down in percentage doesn't mean that we're going down in benefits. We're still going to get the collagen stimulation and targeting the fine lines and wrinkles. You definitely don't want to go really high up in percentages around the eye area that skin is so thin, it's so delicate, it behaves a little bit differently than the rest of your skin, so it's good to start at a lower percentage there. I just really like the texture of this product too because it's a gel cream type of texture that absorbs into the skin really nicely. The eye cream has some plumping action to it which I love in eye cream, but it's not so emollient or rich where it's like your makeup starts to slide around because it's just too rich for that area. Really nice absorbency, a really beautiful type of fluffy eye cream texture."

"This is Paula's Choice C5 super boost eye cream and this is my second bottle of this eye cream and this is another one that I like for the morning time. It does use a stabilized form of vitamin C, so it not only brightens the skin but it also acts as a protective antioxidant as well, which is nice in the morning time. I can definitely feel that there's a tiny bit of plumpness to this and it feels pretty good."

"This is the C5 super boost eye cream that has 5% vitamin C as well plus hyaluronic acid and polypeptide, so this is going to help hydrate, firm, and brighten. Yes, it was a little bit brightening and yes it is very moisturizing, but there are other eye serums and eye creams that I have used in the past that have performed better than this. Other eye serums and eye creams that I have talked about contain more ingredients to target signs of aging. I would rather use those products because they target multiple signs of aging and have more ingredients that outperform this in my opinion, so I'm not going to repurchase this."

"Paula's Choice C5 Super Boost Eye Cream is another great option. I have been using this one since last year. This one by Paula's Choice has a different type of vitamin C in it compared to that other option, but it's still a good choice for a vitamin C eye cream in your routine."
