What the gurus are saying

Dermatologists praise the serum's antioxidant blend, particularly the combination of vitamins A and C and supporting compounds like ferulic acid and glutathione. The main caveat is that the vitamin C forms used are considered less stable or effective, though experts suggest the other antioxidants may compensate. An airless pump packaging is recommended to preserve antioxidant potency during storage.

"Paula's Choice has an interesting one, it's a good one. It has a lot of those supporting antioxidants in there. I think it has glutathione, it has superoxide dismutase, it has ferulic acid. Interestingly, the forms of vitamin C in it are very low for me. It has THDC, tetrahexadecyl ascorbate, and then magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, which is absolute trash when it comes to vitamin C's. But if those vitamin C's do nothing, I actually think the rest of the supporting antioxidants in that formulation are good enough to compensate. So I actually like this product as another alternative for your vitamin C and your antioxidants."

"Paula's Choice I really like the antioxidant serum. It's one of my favorite products with vitamin A and vitamin C combinations. The key thing is that antioxidants oxidize in oxygen, so when you see a vitamin C in a pipette bottle there's oxygen around the vitamin C and the vitamin A and you don't know how effective that product is. To make sure that you're getting maximum efficacy, only spend your money on an airless pump when it comes to an antioxidant serum."
