What the gurus are saying

The experts praise the formula itself, noting the 0.3% concentration sits at the maximum allowed in the UK and EU, paired thoughtfully with coenzyme Q10 and a clean ingredient list that keeps things simple without competing actives. One guru calls it ideal for those brand new to retinol, a stepping stone before moving to higher strengths once tolerance builds. However, the gurus note the serum comes in an opaque bottle rather than an airtight pump, which matters because retinol degrades with air exposure. For beginners easing into retinoids, this gentler starting point may be worth the packaging trade-off.

"They've put in retinol at 0.3%, which is like the maximum we would be allowed in the UK and EU now, and then they've put in co-enzyme Q10, which I love as well. It's a beautiful formula. It is paraben safe, no D alcohol, no fragrance, no essential oils. The only downside for this is even though they've put it in an opaque bottle to prevent UV light from hitting it, it's not in an Airless pump. If they put this 0.3% into an Airless pump, I would give it an eight out of 10 because it's a nice simple formula. It doesn't have many other actives in it, and that's what I kind of love. I like the formula, so the packaging for me is not great, but they did well with the formula."

"If you are a super beginner you can start with the Minimalist 0.3% Retinol. After one or two months when your retinol tolerance is built up, you can move to 0.6%, and then you can move to higher concentrations. The formula is really beautiful. It's 0.3% and it's gentle for beginners."
