What the gurus are saying

Experts praise this primer for mattifying without the heavy, drying feel of many matte products, thanks to its water-based, skincare-like formula that lets skin breathe. Those with very oily skin find it delivers genuine shine control; however, anyone with drier or only slightly oily skin may want to test it first, as the mattifying strength can lean toward drying. The squeeze tube format earned appreciation for ease of application before events.

"Another primer that I actually really like is the Pore Eclipse from Milk. If you're looking for something that's going to do a little bit of mattifying, this is really nice because it is water-based, but it is also mattifying, but it's also hydrating enough. There's a lot of mattifying products out there that are just like they just feel like heavy and dry on the skin. I don't like that. I like my skin to feel hydrated. So if you don't want something that's like heavy and mattifying, this is a really great primer to try out from Milk."

"Milk's Pore Eclipse primer is great if you are super, super oily, not just a little bit oily. This might dry you out a little bit. But the formula is more creamy and it's not like that siliconey clear liquid. It feels like skincare. You can feel your skin and it doesn't feel like there's a layer of something on top."

"I adore that primer. The squeezy tube for one, in this picture, I adore this. If I'm going out to dinner for an event, I will pop this on my face, which is where it belongs. It's stunning. Really stunning. I'll also use a little bit of their pore eclipse spray, then do my makeup and then use a bit of their spray afterwards. It is beautiful if you are oily. If you just want matte skin, you don't even have to be oily to have matte skin. This is the one. Adore it."
