What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise this serum as a gentle exfoliant. It delivers multiple acids (glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and salicylic) without the sting or irritation many exfoliants trigger, thanks to aloe high in the formula that keeps skin moisturized. It tackles dullness, breakouts, blackheads, and enlarged pores, but new users may want to start at once or twice a week to let skin adjust, since some purging may occur initially.

"The Super Smooth Resurfacing Serum is very gentle but also very moisturizing on the skin. It contains aloe which is pretty high up in the ingredient list, so if you are somebody that is more on that sensitive side when it comes to exfoliation I would try this and just see how it goes, maybe use it once a week, maybe twice a week tops just to see how your skin reacts to it. I have combination skin and my skin can be quite reactive to active ingredients, especially exfoliating products like this, but with that aloe I really love this. It has glycolic, lactic, and tartaric acid, which are the AHAs, and then of course we have BHA which is the salicylic acid. This is great if you have blackheads, you're breakout prone, you have enlarged pores. Salicylic acid is one of those acids that go deeper into the pore and it really helps to clean out any of the dirt, oil, and debris that are clogging your pores. When you first start using this and you become quite consistent with it, it's possible that you could experience skin purging, which is basically your skin getting rid of all of that congestion, all of that dirt and oil that was just there."

THE BEST CHEMICAL EXFOLIANTS FOR A BRIGHT & SMOOTH COMPLEXION - INSTANT RESULTS! SINCERELY MISS ASH
"I am very picky when it comes to exfoliants because my combination skin can be quite sensitive to alpha hydroxy acids. Glycolic acid, sometimes lactic acid -- it just depends on the formulation. I'm always looking for something I can be consistent with, because consistency is key with skincare; the more often you use something, the better results you'll see. This one is quite gentle because of the added ingredients. It's a serum that contains a blend of AHAs: lactic, glycolic, and tartaric acid. These three really help with surface exfoliation and giving a brighter complexion, especially if you have dullness. If you have post-acne marks or dark spots, with consistency these three AHAs can do a really good job brightening the skin and giving an even skin tone in time. There is also salicylic acid, your BHA, and this ingredient does a really good job cleaning out your pores. So if you have enlarged pores, blackheads, or some texture to your skin, salicylic acid does a good job going deep."

"I thought I would try the Maelove Super Smooth Resurfacing Serum. I definitely have some dullness lately. I'm actually due for a dermaplaning routine but I haven't done one in well over a month. I'm going to do some chemical exfoliants as opposed to manual exfoliation like dermaplaning, as I get breakouts especially when I'm stressed along my mouth and jaw and chin area. This is a good one. I wouldn't use this every day, I do have sensitive skin, but it's a good resurfacing serum and it's not all that expensive. Just a half a dropper, and if you're using this during the day, 110 percent you need to use sunscreen, because AHA and BHA can make your skin a little bit sensitive. The serum is really nice, brightening and hydrating."

"This has AHAs and BHAs -- alpha hydroxy acid like glycolic acid and BHA like salicylic acid. So this is going to help exfoliate your pores from the BHA and the more superficial texture of your skin from the AHA. What I love about this particular exfoliation product is it doesn't sting, tingle, or burn the skin like so many glycolic acid and exfoliants can. This is actually very comforting to use, which is so rare. I'll just do a dropper full of this, dab it into the face, little bit on the neck, and that's it -- moisturizer on top and we're done. I would do this about once a week depending on how your skin feels and your skin texture is."
