"I love this brand, I love La Mer. It is a very aspirational brand and they actually have a beautiful moisturizer that's very expensive, but their eye cream has no active ingredient that is necessarily proprietary to anything and therefore you're just spending $300 on a really rich moisturizer. You really want to use eye creams with a purpose."

"Their much loved eye concentrate will cost you $270 for a tiny 15ml jar, that's over three times as expensive as their crème de la mer. Not only that, but a quick look at the reviews on the US website show that customers are far from happy with the product. When my research had a look at the reviews, the most recent eight reviews gave it a one-star rating. The ninth rating wasn't even that good, they gave it three stars. The next one was straight back to one star. The majority of those reviews even claimed that the product made their eyelid swollen and itchy, or they even suffered some kind of chemical burn from using it. Those definitely aren't the kind of results that you'd expect from a luxury skincare product you paid hundreds of dollars for."

"La Mer Eye Concentrate Cream retails for $270 for 15 ml. The cream is very rich and creamy. La Mer is really well known for using marine-derived products, namely seaweed, in their formulation. Their signature Miraculous Broth really contains marine extracts in particular a blend of fermented seaweed and other marine ingredients to bring benefit. This eye cream is really meant to hydrate, brighten, and kind of firm the delicate eye area, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles."

"If there are two things that I think are the biggest scams of the entire industry it is La Mer and eye creams. La Mer was created by an astrophysicist that didn't understand skincare. He burned his own hand in a lab and then six years later he's like this seaweed magically saved it. When he died Estée Lauder purchased it and they used like a psychic medical medium to summon him from the dead to share their magical formula. That video explains why they charge 400 for a little tiny sample cup of eye cream and why I think it is absolute trash. If there is ever a time to use La Mer eye cream it would be because it makes someone feel bougie, but otherwise for the rest of us who have skincare issues and want products that are actually going to work for us, La Mer in my personal subjective opinion and actually objective when you look at the ingredients list, it's Nivea plus seaweed. Stop. Especially for acne prone skin types I do not recommend it."
