What the gurus are saying

This serum earns consistent praise for its lightweight texture, intense hydration, and visible plumping effect on fine lines, with dermatologists and beauty experts highlighting how the blend of hyaluronic acid penetrates at different skin depths. The main trade-off is price: while most gurus find it effective and accessible compared to luxury alternatives, one voice notes there are stronger hydrating serums available for less, and another flags the brand's animal testing as a dealbreaker. Best applied to damp skin and layered with a moisturizer on top to avoid any sticky residue.

"The L'Oreal Paris Revitalift 1.5 HA, love it. Super clean, super refreshing, super simple, which I like in an HA serum. Not that expensive. That's mine."
✓Yay
"It's super lightweight, deeply hydrating serum. It really helps plump the skin, smooth the fine lines caused by dehydration. It immediately delivers this intense moisture that can leave your skin really hydrated, dewy, glowy finish. It really goes well under the makeup or layered in a nighttime routine. I really like to apply moisturizer on top of this. I find that a lot of hyaluronic acid serums when I apply them to just damp skin and let it dry, I feel sticky afterwards."
✓Yay
"This is a hyaluronic acid serum which helps in moisturizing and plumping the skin and also helps to repair skin barrier and this feels soothing on the skin. So if you are somebody who gets acne with redness, this will help in reducing the redness."
✓Yay
"I've also been using the L'Oreal Revitalift Filler serum. I've kind of dismissed hyaluronic acid as just another humectant moisturizer in the past, but this one has a special acetylated form of hyaluronic acid that penetrates deeper and doesn't get broken down as quickly. I found this really nice for plumping up my skin with more than just a humectant effect. I don't love this specific smell and I do kind of wish there was a fragrance-free option as well."
✓Yay
"This L'Oreal Serum is actually a really great serum. It's hydrating for your skin and it has hyaluronic acid. But it is so light in texture that it has to work harder to penetrate your skin, especially if there's any residual oil from the cleansing balm on top. As somebody with the brand, one of our biggest challenges is trying to figure out how we formulate these products to penetrate the top layers of your skin so that you get the full benefits of these ingredients that we're using."
✓Yay
"L'Oreal their HA serum also has different blends of hyaluronic acid that helps to penetrate skin at different levels to keep your skin hydrated longer."
✓Yay
"You have L'Oreal's hyaluronic acid serum that you can literally buy at any Duane Reade and apply it on to your stretch marks. They may turn a little bit red and that is okay if it is inciting any sort of inflammatory process. But I reserve it solely for stretch marks. You really don't need it for your face."

"Their hyaluronic acid serum is, you know, good. I currently have this."

"You could definitely use the L'Oreal Revitalift Derm Intensive Hyaluronic Acid Serum [...] instead of [...] a three hundred dollar sodium hyaluronic serum, it's the same thing. [...] I imagine that's a pretty good product."

"The ingredients in here are not bad, it's just for me there's nothing that is really stand out, and I'm glad that it's on sale, but for the price knowing that they test on animals it's a no for me, especially when things like this exist that are so much less expensive. [...] Why am I going to spend three hundred dollars for the glass bottle? I think not."

"To me, moisturizer and serum have two totally different textures, and I love the texture of serum. The L'Oreal is not a favorite. It's 32 bucks. Like, why are you paying 32 bucks for L'Oreal? I understand this claims to be a great product. Lots of derms and doctors love it. I have an entire video of the 15 hyaluronic serums that are horrible and much better than this one, which I would highly, highly recommend."

"I have fallen in love with the L'Oreal Revitalift Filler range. [...] Discovering this hyaluronic acid serum has been absolutely game changing for me. This serum replumps my skin in 1 hour and just gives me the most rejuvenated, refreshed look to my skin."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
