What the gurus are saying

The gurus who reviewed it prize sulfur as an exceptional ingredient for rosacea, particularly the acne form, and note this cleanser doesn't over-strip while still lathering well enough to help with clogged pores. One expert singled it out as a solid choice in the sulfur cleanser category. The one thing to keep in mind: sulfur won't shrink pores despite some claims floating around, but for anyone developing rosacea or dealing with congestion, the ingredient shines.

"You have the Kate Somerville Sulfur Cleanser, which is kind of classic. This ingredient can be wonderful for especially rosacea, the acne form of rosacea in particular. Sulfur, if you're developing rosacea, is a really, really excellent ingredient. In some cases it's over-promising, under-delivering, people are swearing that it can eliminate pores, but there's no evidence that sulfur eliminates pores by any means. Great for rosacea, incredible ingredient for rosacea."

"It doesn't over strip your skin, it is free of oil and it lathers so it's good for clogged pores. For a sulfur cleanser, there is Kate Somerville."
