What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tested this found it delivers real protection alongside conditioning benefits. The K18 peptide works to strengthen hair fibers and reduce breakage, while the formula stays light and nourishing without weighing hair down, making it feel soft and shiny. It can be applied to damp hair before styling or sprayed onto dry hair before curling, and protects against heat up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. That means it covers most everyday heat tools while also acting as a leave-in conditioner, so there is something in it for hair health beyond just the heat shield.

"This is a great one because I'm always in the market for a good lightweight heat protectant that helps to make my hair feel better and does something for my hair aside from just protecting it from heat. Not only does it protect your hair from heat of styling, it also helps to reduce breakage and strengthen your hair fibers because it's got that biomimetic K18 peptide. I love the texture because it's light. It's nourishing but not heavy. So it also helps to soften and smooth your hair at the same time. So you're protecting your hair but also doing something good for your hair at the same time. Ingredient-wise, it's got the K18 peptide, heat activators, polymers that help to do its job, and then conditioning agents that help to smooth and soften your hair. I apply it on damp hair, but I believe you can also spray it on dry hair before you curl. So it's pretty versatile in that sense."

"It's one of the best leave-in conditioners/heat protectants I have ever used. I love the K18 brand and this product really is 10 out of 10. Not only does it make my hair super soft and shiny, but I have more trust in this when I am using heat styling tools. I've experienced a lot of breakage and heat damage in the past and I just feel more confident using this prior to my heat styling tools, whether that's blow drying my hair, curling my hair, straightening my hair, whatever. This has a patented technology with Brazilore and this helps to protect the cortex and the cuticle of the hair, so the inside and out. It's more intensely protected from heat styling tools up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, but it also is a great leave-in conditioner, and your hair just feels so soft and shiny, and it smells really nice as well."
