Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Brightening Fluid Invisible SPF 50 + - Drugstore SPF | Doctors Review
"The Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Brightening Fluid Invisible SPF 50+ promises lightweight and invisible broad spectrum protection with additional skin benefits. The cream is white, more lightweight than traditional SPFs, and can be a little runny if you do the two finger method for measuring it out. It has a noticeable perfume scent, fresh and not overly citrus, but the scent dissipates quickly once applied. It has more body when spread on the face than the runny texture would suggest, but it absorbs completely without any tackiness and leaves the skin hydrated but not suffocated. The finish is a little more glow than natural, in a grown up way, not overly dewy. It never pilled, could be taken right up to the eyes, and didn't show signs of white cast. The filters are Octisalate, Uvinul T 150 and Ensulizone for UVB protection, Avobenzone for UVA protection, and Tinosorb S and Mexoryl XL covering both UVA and UVB, [...] a good mixture of tried and trusted as well as more modern filters offering broad protection, though anyone sensitive to older organic filters might react to this combination. [...] It contains the Vitamin C derivative Ascorbyl Glucoside, but since it appears in the middle of the ingredient list she wouldn't count on it having a strong effect. For hydration it has Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid, plus two peptides from the Matrixyl Complex aiming to increase collagen. [...] It also contains Lemon Fruit Extract with Linalool, Geraniol, Limonene and Citral as well as Fragrance, so it might not suit those sensitive to fragrance, and it contains alcohol too. Even though she wouldn't bet on the claimed skincare benefits, she really likes it as a sunscreen with good protection that's easily available at the drugstore. It doesn't claim to be water resistant, so she wouldn't recommend it for the beach or sweaty outdoor activities, but those with normal to dry skin will appreciate the hydration and finish. If your skin is really oily it might be a little too rich, and it isn't suitable for those allergic to citrus fruits or fragrance, [...] but it definitely gets a recommendation from her."
