"Here we've got encapsulated retinol, it's the correct form, and it's protected from degradation because it's in an airless pump and no light can get through it. They added in Poloxamer 235 in the encapsulate, which forms a polymeric shell around the retinol molecules, protecting them from oxygen degradation and providing controlled release. They also added EGCG, a specific active phenol from green tea that reduces retinol associated inflammation and helps support skin tolerance. One of the downsides is that it contains an allergen-free fragrance, and fragrance in a retinoid product is inflammatory and unnecessary. If they made this fragrance-free, I would rate it as an 8.5 out of 10, but because of the fragrance, even though it's allergen-free, it still can be sensitizing. I can't really responsibly recommend a retinol with fragrance in it, so for that reason, I would downgrade this to a five out of 10."

"It contains retinol along with EGCG and moisturizing agents. You just need a pea-sized amount, it'll form a thin film on your skin. Make sure to apply a moisturizer over this. What I like about this product is it contains EGCG which gives that added antioxidant boost to the skin. EGCG also helps in reducing puffiness on the skin. Also that it's fragrance free. What I didn't like about this product, nothing really. It's a good retinol that can be used in your nighttime skincare routine."
