What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise it as a solid moisturizer, particularly for nighttime use alongside retinol to support collagen production and address fine lines. The recurring caveat is that collagen in the formula acts as a humectant for hydration and temporary plumping, not as a firming ingredient that builds new collagen, so expectations around actual skin firming should be adjusted.

"There's First Aid Beauty, they make a nice firming cream with niacinamide and peptides. I like that peptides are a really nice addition to your nighttime skincare routine after your retinol because you're just going to both work on increasing collagen and helping with those fine lines and wrinkles, improve elasticity in your face, especially if you're noticing sagging or creppiness."

"First Aid Beauty, which is a brand I really love, has something called a firming cream and it has collagen in it and I actually love that cream. It's a wonderful moisturizer, but it's not going to firm up your skin because it has collagen in it. Collagen as a skincare ingredient acts as a humectant, something that binds and holds water in the skin surface, so you can get some temporary plumping and it can help soften the skin, but it's not going to help you form new collagen."
