What the gurus are saying

Gurus overwhelmingly consider this a cult classic and worthwhile splurge for anti-aging, praising its fermented ingredients, peptides, and hydrating properties as genuinely effective and difficult to dupe. The consistent gripe is the high price point, though most still recommend it for those willing to invest. One reviewer found it delivered only hydration with no visible anti-aging benefit despite repeated purchases, representing a rare dissent in otherwise glowing consensus.

"Estée Lauder released their Advanced Night Repair serum in 1982, which is still around in its current formulation today. Estée Lauder made anti-aging a mainstream beauty category really with the release of this and it markets itself as DNA repair for your skin. It's been reformulated several times and still in the market today which is amazing. There's not a lot of mainstream products that last that long. Most products either get reformulated or changed or the brands change hands, things like that. So to have products that are still very similar to the original one is not very common."

5 Products Better Than The Lancome Genifique Concentrate Youth Boosting Anti-Aging Serum
"It does have some nice ingredients in there which I like. I think a lot of people really enjoy some of the ferments, the Bifida ferment. It has denatured alcohol in it, which I prefer not to use as little as I can, and it also has fragrance in it with citronella and lemon. One of the closest dupes is probably going to be the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, but it's the same price so it really doesn't help much with the price if you get this one."
Best Healing, Nourishing, Repairing & Soothing Skincare Products for Irritated, Damaged, or Dry Skin
"There's a great soothing probiotic, skin UV protecting ingredient, peptides, chamomile which is a great soothing ingredient, bisabolol a nice calming hydrating ingredient, and squalene which is a skin identical ingredient similar to ceramides. It's a little bit pricey but it's still a pretty good product, one that I have yet to find a really close dupe or alternative to. This one works very good for a lot of people, so it might be worth checking out for you if you haven't tried it."

Top 50 Best Skincare Products of 2023 💖✔ Part Two - My Favorite Skincare Products of the Year!
"I love this stuff. It's got algae in here and then a lot of good hydrating ingredients, ginseng, things like that. It's wonderful. It's been around for a while. It's expensive, I should do an alternatives list, but I still have yet to find a really really really really good dupe. I found some very similar dupes but they had fragrance in them so that was an instant no-go for me. But this stuff is really nice, it's very reparative, it's got some nice peptides in there and ferments. It's a really good product overall. It's expensive, but it's a good one."

"The Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum is a cult favorite. It's very expensive, but if you are somebody thinking of splurging on a night serum, then this one is a really good choice. This serum contains a bifida lysate ferment, which is a patented ingredient that helps in soothing the skin and maintaining the barrier function of skin. It is a probiotic. Along with this, it also has adenosine which helps in slowing the process of aging. It feels really moisturizing, nourishing, hydrating on the skin. It also contains some anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents which help in lightening dark spots. Overall, it is just very nourishing on the skin. This serum works really well. You don't need to use it every night. You can even just use this only on days where you feel that your skin requires that extra love and that extra moisture and nourishment."

"This is the iconic little brown bottle that we all see everywhere. It's really ideal for those that are seeking a nighttime serum to tackle anti-aging concerns, namely fine lines, wrinkles, and even skin texture and skin tone. It contains hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin, also contains a tripeptide-32 that helps support skin renewal and rejuvenation and may help support collagen synthesis. It also contains their exclusive Chronolux technology, which is a blend of ingredients mainly helping to support skin self-repair and self-renewal overnight as you sleep to help address those concerns of skin aging. It also contains antioxidants like vitamin E and caffeine along with lactobacillus ferment that is great for hydrating and brightening the skin, along with other flower and plant-derived extracts. It's a really nice elegant serum to use at nighttime. Certainly at this price point it's not for everyone, but Estee Lauder being a very well-respected beauty and cosmeceutical company, they definitely make wonderful formulations that work well and do quite a bit of research."

"The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum is the poster child for this ingredient. They're the ones that pretty much did all the studies on this ingredient showing that it helps to calm and soothe the skin. It's fragrance-free and I actually loved it when I used it. The biggest pitfall of this product is that it's super expensive, it's closer to that $100 range, so for me it's hard for me to always recommend it, but it actually is a really nice product with actually a lot of data. They have a patented peptide that's part of this formula, and it does have this beta of ferment extract that's been shown to be helpful for people with sensitive skin."

"I have gone through bottles and bottles and bottles of Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum and except for hydration it did nothing for my skin. I stopped buying this product because I was like okay this does nothing. The product has basic antioxidants, retinol, copper peptide, but it is expensive."
