What the gurus are saying

This serum earns consistent praise for hydration and a luxurious feel, though gurus split on whether the price justifies what it delivers. Those who love it prize the peptide blend and elegant formula for nighttime anti-aging support, while skeptics note you can find similar ingredients in cheaper products bought separately, and one reviewer found it hydrated but did little for wrinkles or pigmentation. At $125 for 50ml it sits firmly in the splurge category, so it may work best as a treat rather than a workhorse in your routine.

"I swear that product was gripping us by our balls like 8 years ago, but nowadays I rarely see people using it. I don't really like that product. It is very expensive and very fragranced. It appeals to what luxury skin care clients are looking for, which is a ton of fragrance. The primary ingredients in the serum are dimethicone and different forms of silicones, which are found in some of the most affordable skin care and makeup products out there. They're by no means special ingredients, and given they're at such a high concentration in the serum, I think it's reflective of a mid formula at best. Like most luxury skin care products, you're paying for the name and the formula actually really isn't that great. So I personally wouldn't recommend that one."

"Estée Lauder made anti-aging a mainstream beauty category really with the release of this, and it kind of markets itself as DNA repair for your skin. It's been reformulated several times and is still on the market today, which is amazing. There's not a lot of mainstream products that last that long. Most products either get reformulated or changed, or the brands change hands. So to have a product that's still very similar to the original one is not very common. I just purchased this a couple months ago, before some of the news broke about some of the scandals and things, so I'm going to finish it because I already bought it."

"There's peptides in here, we've got chamomile which is a great soothing ingredient, a nice calming hydrating ingredient, and then squalane is in there as well, which is a skin identical ingredient, similar to ceramides. It's a little bit pricey but it's still a pretty good product, one that I have yet to find a really close dupe or alternative to, but this one works very good for a lot of people, so it might be worth checking out for you if you haven't tried it out."

"I get asked for dupes for this one a lot, the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex. I can't remember what incarnation they're on of this one, they've had tons of them. I think the main star of the show with the Estée Lauder is the bifida ferment, so that's the main exciting ingredient we're looking for."

"This one's been around for a while, the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Multi-Recovery Complex. It's expensive, I should do an alternatives list, but I still have yet to find a really, really good dupe. I found some very similar dupes but they had fragrance in them, so that was an instant no-go for me. But this stuff is really nice, it's very reparative, it's got some nice peptides in there and ferments. It's a really good product overall. It's expensive but I mean it's a good one."
Estée Lauder 🆕 New! Advanced Night Repair Rescue Solution Serum with 15% Bifidus Ferment Review
"I actually really enjoy this one, I was surprised. I enjoyed their Advanced Night Repair Serum, but I didn't find it to be like Holy Grail status like a lot of other people do. Apparently it's one of the best selling repairing serums in the world, that's just what Estée Lauder says, I have no idea if that's true. This one feels really hydrating, calming, it really feels nice when your skin needs a little boost of moisture but you don't want it to feel greasy, it doesn't. It seems to help a bit with fine lines, seems to plump up skin a bit, especially just noticing on my hand, it's amazing, it definitely plumps that up a bit. It's non-greasy, you can add it to most routines without having to rearrange or change anything, it doesn't have any high maintenance ingredients that don't play well with this or that. It does seem to help with redness and calming skin. For acne prone skin there's only a couple ingredients of note, hexylene glycol and carbomer, and those aren't terribly comedogenic. In terms of the price, this is kind of one of the bummers, it's 20 milliliters, 0.7 ounces, and it retails for 78 bucks. Although the bottle will last you forever, I've been using this now for over a month and it's just barely below the water line, so if you use this once a day this bottle will last."

Then vs Now - What Cult Skincare Products Stand the Test of Time
"It's eighty five dollars for one ounce, so it's expensive, but I still use this one occasionally. It's got buff ferment, baobab extract, chamomile, it's got a lot of good anti-aging ferments and hydrating and soothing ingredients. So it's expensive, but in my opinion this one is still relevant, it's still a really good product. We're not talking a three hundred dollar price tag, we're still a little bit under a hundred bucks, but there's sets and things like that, and I still have yet to find what I consider the holy grail best alternative to it. There's a lot of dupes and similar alternatives, but I haven't found one that just hits it on the head for me, like I'll never want to buy this one again, whereas with some of these they're products that I love better than the original. So this one, I think in my opinion, it's still relevant."

"This serum contains a bifida lysate ferment, which is a patented ingredient patented by the company Estee. This ingredient helps in soothing the skin and maintaining the barrier function of skin, it is a probiotic. Along with this, it also has adenosine, which helps in slowing the process of aging. It feels really moisturizing, nourishing, hydrating on the skin. It also contains some anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agents which help in lightening dark spots. Overall, it is just very nourishing on the skin, so this serum works really well. The Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum has been a cult favorite of many. It's very very expensive, I have still been using the PR packages that have been sent because it's really expensive, but if you are somebody who is thinking of splurging on a night serum then this one is a really good choice. You don't need to use it every night, you can even just use this only on days where you feel that your skin requires that extra love and that extra moisture and nourishment. I like to use it in very small drops. I first apply my treatment cream for my melasma and then I use the serum and then go ahead and apply a layer of moisturizer, that's how I prefer to use it. You can use this just as the only serum that you use on your face and then go on with a moisturizer, that is also fine."

"Is it worth the hype? No, but I've used it in the past and I've got great results. Do I think it works? Absolutely. I think everyone online saying oh my God this is the best thing that ever existed, no, but I did like it. So I think it's expensive for what it is, but if you're getting it as a treat for your birthday, absolutely fine, it's nice, it's a nice serum. I think people online saying it's the only serum you need, it's the best thing that's ever happened, are overhyping it, but it's a really nice serum, so I've always enjoyed it when I've used it in the past."

"Whilst I understand why the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum is a cult classic, I feel it gained popularity at a time when you couldn't find anything similar for cheaper with the same sort of ingredients. It may be packed with an amazing cocktail of ingredients, but they're all ingredients you can find in individual products, and when you buy those separately your whole routine will still cost less than this one serum."

"The next product hasn't been a dud product. I had forgotten how much I love it, it's iconic for a reason. It's Estée Lauder's Advanced Night Repair. I've been traveling with her a lot of late so I bought the biggie and then I bought these little tiny ones. I got these at the airport, I think they're about a tenner each, and one of these will last you probably three to four days, probably even five. I got the medium size one and this is the one that's live, I have about this much left, and when this is gone then I'm going to be buying a new one. I just kind of refill it and keep the full one over here in my little fridge. It's definitely something that I'm going to keep buying over and over again, she's a dud product."

"This is by Estée Lauder, it is the Advanced Night Repair, and this is a cult classic. It has been around for years and there's a reason for that. It has antioxidants, soothing ingredients, probiotics, and it also contains their own proprietary peptide, which is Tetrapeptide-32, and that is to support our skin's natural rhythm, so it's about protecting during the day and repairing at night. My skin loves this, it feels amazing, and yes, I did buy it again. It's funny because my mom turned me on to this, she gave me a little sample when I was last home in Florida, and it kind of reignited my love for it. That's one that I'm going to make sure is always in the stash."
⭐️ Summer SKINCARE Faves & Fails | Skin Obsessed Mary
"This one is by Estée Lauder, the Advanced Night Repair. It probably doesn't even need a whole lot of introduction. The reason it was rediscovered is because of my mom, she's an Estée Lauder lady, and when I was at her house last she was cleaning out a bunch of stuff and gave me this little bottle. I hadn't used it in years, but boy does my skin love it. It has just so many goodies in it: antioxidants, humectants and hydrators, soothing ingredients, probiotics, but what it also has is a proprietary peptide they've created called tetra peptide 32, and what that's designed to do is mimic our skin's own natural rhythm, so it's all about protecting your skin during the day and helping it repair at night. My skin freaking loves it. I've been using this both morning and evening as my serum step, my skin drinks it up, my skin's just looking great at the moment, and I think that's one of the reasons why it's fabulous. I'm just going to keep it in the routine. I love it."

"This is a very hydrating serum. It's not doing a huge amount for wrinkles or for hyperpigmentation or any sort of skin condition, it's more of a conditioner of the skin, if you like. You can get similar results from the ordinary or from Vichy's hyaluronic acid."

"It retails for $125 for 50ml. This is the iconic little brown bottle that we all see everywhere, it's kind of what I think of first when I think of Estée Lauder skincare products. It's actually really popular in Asia; in China, this is like the product to get. Estée Lauder is a very well-respected cosmetic company, they definitely make wonderful formulations that work well, and they actually do quite a bit of research, but certainly at this price point it's not for everyone. As for the formula: it's really ideal for those seeking a nighttime serum to tackle anti-aging concerns, namely fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture and skin tone. It contains hyaluronic acid, which is fairly ubiquitous, to help hydrate the skin. It also contains a tri-peptide 32 that helps support skin renewal and rejuvenation and may help support collagen synthesis. It also contains their exclusive ChronoxY technology, we don't really know exactly what's in it, but essentially it's a blend of ingredients that helps support skin self-repair and self-renewal overnight as you sleep to address those concerns of skin aging. It also contains antioxidants like vitamin E and caffeine, along with lactobacillus ferment, which is great for hydrating and brightening the skin, along with other floral and plant-derived extracts. So just a really nice, elegant serum to use at nighttime."

"The poster child for this ingredient is actually the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum. They're the ones that pretty much did all the studies on this ingredient, showing that it helps to calm and soothe the skin. I wanted to hate that product because it's one of those heritage products that's been on the market forever, but it's actually fragrance free, and I actually loved it when I used it. The biggest pitfall of this product is that it's super expensive, closer to that $100 range, so it's hard for me to always recommend it, but it actually is a really nice product with a lot of data, and they have a patented peptide that's part of this formula. Specifically, it has this bifida ferment extract that's been shown to be helpful for people with sensitive skin."
