What the gurus are saying

This mask feels luxuriously thick and fluffy on skin, locking in hydration overnight with a formula that combines hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, and vegan collagen. The texture cushions and plumps the skin, making it especially useful if you're unsure whether fine lines are just dehydration or something deeper. It's genuinely hydrating even though hyaluronic acid can sometimes dry people out, though the fragrance it contains means anyone with fragrance sensitivity may want to patch-test first. Most helpful for those with drier or mature skin seeking a heavy overnight seal, or anyone with a compromised barrier looking to nourish; those with oily skin might find it too thick for regular nighttime use.

"A night mask is basically a super heavy-duty moisturizer that you wear overnight. This is one that I've loved for a few years, it's the e.l.f. Holy Hydration! Sleep Mask. This has hyaluronic acid and peptides which are great and hydrating, but that's not what makes this feel like butter on the skin. It's the shea butter in here that literally gives it this toothpaste-like appearance. This stuff is thick. It's pretty budget-friendly and it's really good. Some people don't like hyaluronic acid because they find that it can dry them out a little bit more, so if that's you, you might want to avoid this one. But I have found this one to be fantastic, and especially because it's a good drugstore option if you're looking for something over a moisturizer or over a serum or just something on its own, this can help lock it in."

My 21 Favourite Skincare Discoveries Of 2021
"The Holy Hydration Sleep Mask, this also has hyaluronic acid and peptides. Oh my god, if you are looking for a thick occlusive moisturizer for winter, if you're looking for like an overnight sleeping balm, it's one of those products that feels like a mattress on your face, a memory foam mattress. It's so nice. It's so fluffy. And then it actually locks things in. Hyaluronic acid can be a finicky molecule because it can dry some people out, but e.l.f. really did it with this line. It is beautiful. It is perfect."
3 Hyaluronic Acid Sleep Masks Your Dry Skin Will Thank You For
"This sleeping mask from E.l.f.'s Holy Hydration line is actually really good. It has hyaluronic acid but it also has peptides, and the base of the ingredients list is water, glycerin, and caprylic triglyceride. This is a little bit thicker and comes out more like a cream. I find it to be a little bit more cushiony, and this one is super hydrating. It also has those peptides in there, specifically palmital tripeptide one and palmital tetrapeptide seven, and some vegan soluble collagen and cholesterol as well as ceramides. This is a really fantastic formula that actually nourishes the skin. If you are struggling with understanding whether you have fine lines and wrinkles or if you're just dehydrated, this is going to be a great one to wear overnight. I have oily acne-prone skin and this one did not break me out, though this one is a little bit thick for me. But this is really great if you have more mature skin, if you're looking for something thick, if you want to seal in some moisture overnight, or if you're looking for something to cushion up your skin. Just keep in mind that this formula does have fragrance."
Drugstore Skincare is HERE and I'm Not Okay.
"This holy hydration sleeping mask also has hyaluronic acid and peptides and really skin loving ingredients. This has ceramide eop as well as soluble collagen from a vegan source. This product does have fragrance in it. For me, I am oily prone and I would personally not use this during the day as it's way too thick, but if you are dry this would be a really great day moisturizer. I do like a thick moisturizer at night, and if you have a damaged skin barrier and you're not sensitive to fragrance, this is an absolutely lovely formula."

"I haven't tried it yet because I don't usually use a sleeping mask. I don't feel like my skin is that dry, I don't really need one that much. But I think I might try it out, I'll keep it on hand if I do feel like I get dry or irritated."
