    What the gurus are saying

This tint earns consistent praise for its dewy, glowing finish that lets skin show through while building to fuller coverage without looking heavy. Gurus found it wears well throughout the day without separating, and the formula includes skincare actives like peptides, cactus extract for soothing and antioxidant support, and ceramides to lock in hydration and strengthen the skin barrier. That means it works well for anyone wanting a luminous, skin-like result that does real work for skin while you wear it.

"I love how dewy it looks and how well it builds. You can still see through to my skin. I've worked hard on my complexion. At 47 it looks damn good, so I need to show it."

"This is the biggest people pleaser, I think the largest number of people will be happy with this. It's a beautiful formula that reads much more like a skincare product, we have squalane, a vegan collagen alternative, a ceramide ingredient, phytosterols, and cactus extract for extra hydration. It has a phenomenal shade range, both very light and very deep, and it's the best value in the whole video, thirty six dollars for 1.58 fluid ounces. There's no SPF in this, which is fine, just wear it over your sunscreen, there's no scent, and it wears beautifully. I prefer to apply this with my fingers. Yes, this is my top pick from this video, there may be certain characteristics you like a little more in some of the other products, but as a whole this one knocked it out of the park, it's a really, really good skin tint."

"It does give a little bit of that dewy complexion so it's definitely not matte and it's not skin-like, it is a little bit more dewy than that skin-like finish. Surprisingly this lasts pretty much the entire day, my makeup stays in place, it doesn't separate, and it just looks like my skin for the entire day. I really love it. [...] This is lovely and it has skincare ingredients as well. There is peptides in here, there's also Cactus extract which will help to soothe and soften the skin but it also provides the skin with antioxidant support, and there is ceramides in here which helps to prevent transepidermal water loss so it keeps your skin hydrated for the entire day and it can also help to strengthen your skin barrier at the same time. I love when makeup products contain skincare ingredients especially when a foundation type of product or like a skin tint, because you're using majority of that on your face more so than let's say a blush or a bronzer. This is what's covering your entire face."

    What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

    Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

    Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

    Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
