I don't really like the fact that they use the term serum there because it's not really a serum, it's not really an essence, it's not really a toner, but it is very liquidy. If your essence is thick, I would apply it beforehand. If your essence is watery and runny, I would probably apply it afterwards. I think of it more as like an in-between toner essence type product. I wish they would relabel this or kind of better qualify it for what it is because it's not really a serum, but it's not a toner. It's more of a watery based essence to me."

"It's got some vitamin E in there and soybean oil, so if you have acne prone skin, the main ingredients to be aware of is the vitamin E and the soybean oil. But I found if I use a copper peptide and then layer a neutral product in between that's not a pH dependent product, that's not an active in between the copper peptide, it seems to work for me and other brands have recommended it, because otherwise you have to choose one or the other. Copper peptides can be very [...] fragile. [...] It's still kind of a relatively newer ingredient in skin care, but I found that works for me and I'd rather do both as long as your skin isn't irritated than have to pick one or the other and only get the benefits from one or the other."

Peptides are humectant ingredients and we know they're wonderful for hydrating your skin, and the brand claims some other benefits too, though that data is manufacturer supplied. I do believe, by the nature of humectants and the fact that it's just nice to apply, that using this before other serums and ampoules helps. I love my peptides, I love my peptides."

"This is the six peptide skin booster from the COSRX the ordinary line, and it's the first product from that line that's really captured my interest. It's a serum with six forms of peptides plus some hyaluronic acid, natural moisturizing factors and amino acids, and it's really more of a giant hydrating toner at 5.07 fluid ounces. We don't yet have peer reviewed published literature on these peptides, only promising manufacturer's data, so I think it's safer to say the peptides act as humectants rather than overstate the benefits. When you look at the Korean label the actual use levels are pretty low, so I wouldn't rely on this as your main peptide product, but as a booster it gives additional hydration and helps other peptides absorb better. It's so well made that I can use multiple layers of it and my skin doesn't get sticky or tacky. It's really a hit for me."

So my final word and rating on this product is, is it the best overall superstar anti-aging product that you can add into your routine? Absolutely not. Is this a great co-star, an additional product, a booster that you can add alongside a nice fully developed skincare routine to boost your results? Maybe, especially if you haven't quite hit all of your skincare goals just yet. And so for that reason alone I'm going to be rating this a seven out of ten. Once you understand how to use this in your routine, it could actually be very helpful as a co-star to the rest of your skincare products."

"COSRX is calling this a serum booster, and the key word there is booster. It helps lift up the rest of your routine, but on its own, if it was your only active product, meaning the peptides in it, I think you might be disappointed with it. I personally was when I tested this out. I didn't feel that I got a ton of benefits from it on its own. I think it works well as a booster, but it's important to know this isn't a highly concentrated serum, this is an essence. COSRX is using some more interesting peptides, and I think the mix delivers a more unique set of benefits. [...] There are some collagen stimulating peptides in here, though it's not a heavy focus of the six peptide mix they're using. They're also looking to address signs of sensitivity and irritation on the skin, redness and inflammation, which can be particularly helpful if you have a sensitive skin type, if you're struggling with your moisture barrier, but it can also be helpful if you struggle with inflammatory acne as well. There's also a brightening peptide in here that can help with the overall complexion and clarity of the skin, the evenness of it."

"I actually recommend their peptide booster Essence that contains six different types of peptide complexes including copper as well as other types of signaling peptides that help to plump the skin support collagen synthesis improve the appearance of fine lines wrinkles and skin radiance much more watery nonsticky. This Essence currently is retailing for around $17. The only thing to keep in mind is that because it does contain copper if you do choose to use it in the morning you want to be mindful of not pairing this with a pure L-ascorbic acid-based vitamin C serums, potentially there could be some interaction. Copper may oxidize pure vitamin C but it's totally okay to use with other forms like THD ascorbate."

I also like that it has a variety of amino acids which are part of skin's natural moisturizing factors, so it's really helpful for the skin barrier and it is affordable at baseline but discounted for Black Friday. "What you have here with these six peptides are peptides that are going to improve moisture content in your skin, help with elasticity, firmness, overall more even skin tone, radiant luminous glow, and have a smoothing effect to the skin surface. Having used this myself I can attest that that in fact does occur. This also has some other ingredients that are not peptides that also have benefit for the skin. Niacinamide, one of my favorites, a B vitamin that is good for dark spots, redness, the moisture barrier, it's anti-inflammatory, it's soothing. I'm not told what the percentage strength of niacinamide in this is and I'm calling your attention to that because effective strengths range anywhere from 2 to 5%, higher percentages can sometimes be more irritating so I'm not sure what the percentage is in this. I did not experience any irritation with it. It also has allantoin which is very soothing, it has glycerin and sodium hyaluronate, so those ingredients along with the peptides also aid in improving the moisture content of skin's outermost layer. The consistency is a waterlike consistency, there's no real viscosity to it, it's not thick, it's not sticky, it's not tacky. It does not contain fragrance."

Anyone seeking to just even out complexion but also smooth the skin surface, improve little fine lines, I highly suggest this product. Use it as a first step in either your morning or evening skincare routine or you could use it twice a day if you're so motivated. Just apply it a little bit to damp skin, you can pat it in or rub it in, and then you are free to apply moisturizer on over if you so choose or other hydrating serums or toners. It is a very lightweight consistency."
