What the gurus are saying

Hydration and comfort win across the board, with gurus praising how moisturizing and easy-to-wear these balms are. The flavor and scent profiles split opinion: some find them genuinely delicious (coconut cake, caramel latte notes), while others taste off-target (the taro reads burnt, the tapioca overly heavy). Sheer color is the trade-off for the balm format, which disappointed one reviewer who expected more payoff based on the website swatches.

"These Fresh Kiss Glossy Balms come in the Daybreak and Moonlight set inspired by Eevee, Espeon and Umbreon. The Eevee coconut cream one smells heavily like coconut, which usually reminds me of shampoo, but this doesn't taste shampoo-y, it's more like a coconut cake, and it's actually a really nice shade, I really like it. The Espeon taro milk tea one is okay, but it tastes burnt, I love the taste of taro milk tea and this isn't that, though the color is nice. The Umbreon brown sugar boba one tastes very tapioca heavy, which is usually a taste I like, but not the way ColourPop has done it. These are just lip balms so we're not going to get full color, which is a little bit disappointing because on their website the shades look incredible."

"The last makeup product is the ColourPop Fresh Kiss lip balm. It's so comfortable on the lips, they're so hydrating. If you're not a lipstick lip combo girly and you just like a plain balm that's easy to put on, these are so great. It just smells so good."

"I was running for my regular lip hydrator, which is the ColourPop Fresh Kiss Glossy Lip Balm. I like this so much better. Especially the flavors and scents this comes in. This is so good. So hydrating. It's just like a sheer little wash of color. [...] This one [...] is like a caramel latte, but it just smells so so good."
