What the gurus are saying

This eye gel delivers a creamier texture than its name suggests: good news if you have dry skin around the eyes. The fragrance-free formula includes peptides and 1.1 percent skin conditioning agents. One caveat: the packaging cracked during testing, raising questions about whether the container seals properly during storage.

"A specific peptide under eye product that I really like and is really affordable is by Coco Kind. I think it's actually a pretty new launch for them, but what I like about it is it not only has some anti-aging peptides in it, but it also has a lot of ceramides which are going to help strengthen and fortify and support the skin barrier so that area around your eyes looks better, but also feels good."

"This Peptide Fine Line Eye Gel has ingredients including some you don't see every day, a total of 1.1 percent skin conditioning agents in a fragrance free formula. I'd absolutely call this a cream instead of a gel, and that's good news if you're dry like me, this is really nice. I'm really impressed with the Coco Kind, that one absolutely stands out to me."

"I didn't quite finish the cocokind Peptide Fine Line Eye Gel. I enjoyed it, but the packaging broke and I decided I don't trust it anymore, since air might be getting in, so I'm discarding the remainder."
NEW Skincare: oh no ABIB(!), Parnell came THROUGH, & a $95 Cream *yikes*

"This is a fairly new product that they recently just came out with. [...] From my time using this I really love it and I had to include it in this video. [...] This would be great for those that are looking for that everyday eye product that can be used morning and evening, something that is plumping, hydrating and repairing on the skin. There's peptides in here which will address fine lines and wrinkles, but there's squalene, glycerin, five ceramide plus lipid blend."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Ceramides

Ceramides are part of the skin's own barrier, and moisturisers built around them have evidence for holding water in and settling the tightness and flaking that come with a damaged barrier.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Peptides

Peptides are short protein fragments meant to signal repair. The evidence for them is thinner than for retinoids or vitamin C, and it varies a lot by the specific peptide, so the category is more promising than proven.
