What the gurus are saying

This product melts into skin like honey and delivers visible hydration and barrier repair overnight, even for those with combination skin or significant dryness. The thick, glossy texture starts as an ointment but transforms into something softer as you warm and press it in, and a small amount goes far, lasting months with regular use. One practical note: the product may separate slightly in the jar, so a quick stir before use helps, and warming a pea-sized amount between your hands before application makes the texture easier to work with.

"This is like the poshest version of slugging you're ever going to get. It's like this ointment to serum sort of like nectar that melts the moment it hits the skin. It's thick, cushiony almost like a thick honey at first but once you work this in it becomes so moisturizing, like this soft nectary honey blanket over the skin with a similar texture to Vaseline but kind of like softer and more, not [...] watery but almost like a less rich version of Vaseline. The website says this is for people with dry skin, dehydrated skin, damaged skin, overexfoliated skin, post-procedure sensitivity. I have combination skin. My oily skin loves this. It's absolutely fine with it. But basically, if your skin barrier is suffering in any way whatsoever, this is a good product to pick up to kind of revive everything and make your skin feel normal again. It has a slight fragrance to [...] it, smells a bit like bread. It has sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid, so it's a humectant that's going to give your skin that cushiony feel."

"They also have a jelly nectar which you can use in place of a facial oil at night love that I'm about halfway through that"

"It's Bloom Effects Royal Tulip Nectar. Like, I talk about this product constantly, but it earns the attention every single time. She's thick, she's glossy, and brings dull winter skin back to life overnight. She just melts into the skin like honey and seals in moisture beautifully. There's generally nothing else quite like this product."

"If I want a super duper quencher, then I go for the Bloom Effects Royal Tulip Nectar. [...] I have been using this longer than I have had this channel. All my besties use it, and it's always been sort of glow in a bottle. [...] It smells amazing. Sometimes only an oil will do the job."

🤯 Skincare, Hair & Makeup That SHOCKED Me
"Royal Tulip Nectar from Bloom Effects [...] is like no other serum I have tried before, but it's not really a serum, and it's not really a balm either, and it is definitely not a moisturizer. It's like a super thick honey. And if you have dry skin, this will be your best friend. It's made with their signature tulip essence. It has incredible restorative properties. It just melts into the skin beautifully. The very first time I used it, I got up the next morning and [...] my skin was calm, hydrated, and glossy, and it was like it had been soothed overnight. It is the perfect slugging product, and it's always my last step in the fall, winter, and spring months."
❤️ My Beauty Empties | Here's What Made the Cut!
"Then there's Bloom Effects Royal Tulip Nectar. This is the first of what I call my duh products. These are the ones that I reorder without even thinking. You will never see me without this. It's part ointment, part just pure magic. It heals, it hydrates, it seals everything in. It kind of fixes my skin. I even have this teeny tiny little pot that I decanted into so that I can carry it with me. It goes with me everywhere."
❤️ The BEST Beauty Product! | For Dry or Damaged Skin | Bloomeffects
"You open it up and it may have a little bit of a separation to it, so [...] you give it a good mix. You use just a pea-size amount, [...] warm it up in your hands until it has more of a serum consistency, and then you press it into the skin. They say this repairs and heals, and it is so true. You wake up in the morning with the bounciest, most hydrated skin imaginable. The founder Kim suffers from eczema dermatitis, and using this product helped her completely get off of cortisone. [...] In the past few months I've been suffering from some sort of skin issue right on my eyelids, and [...] after only using this product four times, that is almost entirely gone. It's really quite shocking. If you have dry, itchy, flaky skin, if your barrier is compromised, if you have a sunburn or even a windburn, this is the product for you. You can also use this as a mask by applying a more liberal amount and removing it after 20 minutes or so with a damp cloth. [...] Personally I use a liberal amount anyway, and there is absolutely no way I'm wiping this stuff off. It is like gold dust. I am completely obsessed with this product."
❄️ PM Winter Skincare Routine for Mature, Hydrated & Rejuvenated Skin
"Royal Tulip Nectar by Bloom Effects is my Holy Grail, my secret weapon for dry skin. I think it's like a winter savior. I layer it on in my evening routine, and generally just before bed if I need it, I add a little bit of the prequel ointment just underneath my eyes because that's where I'm trying to keep that hydration locked in even more than anywhere else."
I’m Done with Anti-Aging. Here’s What I Do Instead!
"It is the Royal Tulip Nectar by Bloom Effects. I use this everyday at least twice a day. And I've even decanted it into this little tiny pot and I carry it with me everywhere. My skin just doesn't have to be parched anymore."
🌟 If You’re Over 40, Use These 5 Ingredients Now!
"Glycerin is the first ingredient in Bloom Effects Royal Tulip Nectar. I love this. Number four on the list is glycolic acid. This is my go-to exfoliant. It's one of those ingredients that just earns its place in my grown-up skincare routine. [...] Glycolic is that little tiny janitor that sweeps away all the dead cells on the surface so that new fresh ones can shine through. It smooths texture, brightens tone, and even helps other ingredients like peptides and antioxidants work even better because they can actually get where they need to go. [...] Glycolic isn't just exfoliating. It also tells your skin to make more collagen and hyaluronic acid. So over time, you get firmer, plumper, and more hydrated skin. For me, it's one of those quiet heroes. Not flashy, but absolutely necessary if you want to get that glow back."
❤️ 10 Beauty Products I Love ❤️
"The Royal Tulip Nectar is the nectar of the Gods. Their line of products comes from tulip bulbs that are grown in Amsterdam. It's a healing ointment to serum, and it's just a very strange texture like you have to give it a real stir. It is hydration city. It could be too much for some skins but not for mine, it is absolutely Divine. The Tulip itself has a whole host of skin benefits like strengthening of the barrier by reducing transepidermal water loss and it also contains amino acids to hydrate the skin and it's also a natural humectant which means it locks everything in. In addition to the Tulip benefits it has 30% glycerin which I think is amazing, it has vitamin C and hyaluronic acid and it also has peptides. It is just so good. Now it is pricey, it's $65 for 80 mls, but I do think it is worth every penny."
❤️ Answering YOUR Top Questions about Skincare, Beauty & Me ❤️
"This is their Royal Tulip Nectar and it is the strangest gooiest kind of consistency but this is my last step in my skin care routine every single night this entire winter and it has saved my skin. This runs about 75 or 80 bucks but I'm telling you this has lasted me 10 months, I'm still not even done. By the time I finish this it'll be a year that I have had this. It is one of the best investments for my skin. I know it's designed specifically for those with sensitive skin. The founder of this company, Kim, she has incredibly problematic skin, one of the reasons why she invented this. I'm telling you this is like soothe, soothe, soothe. I love it."
❤️ Tried, Tested and LOVING | My Top 10 Favorites Right Now
"This is the Royal Tulip Nectar by Bloom Effects. Now this was one of my all-time favorite products of 2024 and I use it constantly. In fact this winter it completely saved my skin. I have been slugging twice a day every day with an ointment just around my eye area because the dehydration is just something fierce and I've been battling it for almost two years after using a device that really destroyed that area. One of you suggested I use this instead of my ointment and hallelujah I am never going back. So I use this as the last step in my skincare routine both morning and night and it's like a little miracle worker. This is the first time that this area underneath my eye is actually staying plump throughout the day. Nothing has been able to achieve that. Nothing I mean holy Toledo Batman. This is just the best product ever."

"The Royal Tulip Nectar is the juiciest bounciest thing I have ever put on my skin and particularly during these winter months it's going on every single night after my retinoid. My skin is staying so plump as a result. I've actually stocked up on these I have a backup and it lasts a really really long time. It's really this interesting kind of almost like a sticky honey kind of a consistency. It's just amazing."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Vitamin C

Topical vitamin C is an antioxidant with reasonable evidence for dullness and uneven tone. It breaks down in light and air, so how a product is formulated and packaged matters as much as the percentage on the front.

Source: DermNet

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Source: DermNet

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
