What the gurus are saying

This mist's popularity comes largely from its cute capsules and aesthetic. The PDRN is positioned fairly low on the ingredients list, so the concentration is modest. Reviewers who use it enjoy the experience: the mist is light, unscented, and delivers a glow for some. Experts note that if strong PDRN benefits are your goal, better products exist elsewhere.

"The Anua hyaluronic acid capsule mist is twenty bucks and contains a little bit of PDRN. I've been testing this out recently. I use it when I get out of the shower to keep my face damp before I apply my nighttime products. So far so good. I like it. It doesn't have any scent and it's got some nice additional benefits with ingredients like the PDRN."

"I haven't found like a game-changing PDRN product for myself yet, but the research is there. I just haven't noticed anything that's thrilled me so far with it. Some soybean oil, apple juice, eggplant, aloe, seed oil, turmeric. No scent to it, really nice, super light mist. I like that. And certainly I don't see any reason why you couldn't use this over makeup as well."

"I bought the Anua PDRN and Hyaluron Mist because of the little PDRN oil capsules in it, curious whether they would need shaking. I do feel like it gave me a glow."

"Anua has a very viral PDRN spray that's in really cute packaging. If you're looking for something a bit more aesthetic and fun, I would check out the Anua PDRN spray. Love that one."

"This Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Mist is fine, but the PDRN is actually quite low down on the ingredients list, so you're not getting a super high concentration. Hyaluronic acid you don't need as a standalone ingredient. It's in everything else in your skincare routine. I think the reason this is so popular is it has the bubbles, little capsules within them, which makes it very viral looking and great for Instagram. I get why people are hyped by the look of the product and want to try something different, but honestly, the formulation is nothing special. You can get better PDRN products out there. Anua actually have a whole suite of better products than this. [...] There are better PDRN options on the market, and nobody needs this much hyaluronic acid."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Urea

Urea both holds water in the skin and gently loosens dead surface cells. At higher strengths it has good evidence for very dry or thickened skin.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
