Then very boring, it is vitamin C, the Geek and Gorgeous C glow, which you have seen 100 times. I love it and it is my preferred way to get an antioxidant boost and something that helps with overall brightening.

A nice serum, but which I did not like that much
Doctor Anne: Skip vs gurus 68% Approved
In my opinion, this is a good product for mild hyperpigmentation or unevenness, but will probably not give you noticeable results on melasma, dark sunspots, or just stubborn hyperpigmentation that you have accumulated over decades of sun exposure, especially not if you expect results within weeks.

Between these two, I much prefer the texture of the gel serum. I'm just not the biggest fan of oily textures.

I picked up the Anastasia Beverly Hills clear brow gel in a mini size to brush up my brow hairs, which grow downwards from the arch and make me look tired, and hold them in place all day. I had high hopes, but it didn't do that; after three to four hours everything went south again. I understand they have a stronger one, but I've since found one I really enjoy, so I'm not going to repurchase.

"And then I follow up with the Geek and Gorgeous Power Peptides, which is not my favorite peptide serum of all times, the one that I have, and that still was like half of it left. So happy to use it up. Very affordable and is really nice in texture and in ingredients."

"The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% plus B5 is the reformulated version with extra panthenol added for extra soothing. I really enjoyed that in the winter. Great texture, great price point. It's especially good if your skin isn't only dehydrated but also tends to be irritated or red, which is true for most people with more mature skin who use actives."

"The Medik8 Liquid Peptides Advanced MP replaced my NIOD as my copper peptide serum after I tested it from the first quarter of this year. It has a lovely watery texture, unlike many more affordable copper peptide serums I tested that were more lotiony, and it also contains mini proteins, which is an interesting area of research. Sadly it's incredibly expensive, but I think I would repurchase this one."

"The Timeless Matrixyl Synthe'6 serum is hydration with added peptides from the matrixyl complex, which I enjoy. I have other serums I use for my peptide fix, so I like this for hydration with some peptides extra. It isn't as easy for me to get as other ones and it's in the medium price range, but the Timeless range is quite nice if you want a hydration plus peptide serum and don't want to invest in copper peptides."

"The Biossance Squalane Omega Repair Cream is a very nourishing cream without being greasy, from a category I'd have shunned a couple of years ago. Now I need something more nourishing, and this is great because it's not oily, doesn't break me out and works a charm. It has squalane, ceramides and omega fatty acids, everything you want, and it really melts into the skin like a dream. Great product if you don't know it already."

"The Sunday Riley CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening serum uses a vitamin C derivative, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, which is also great for people with more reactive skin who can't tolerate L-Ascorbic acid. The downside, other than it being quite expensive, is that it has quite a few essential oils, so if you're switching to a derivative because your skin is so reactive, this might not be the best choice. It's really a treat to yourself because it smells divine and has an amazing texture, but still I'll go back to Geek & Gorgeous."

"The Geek & Gorgeous Mighty Melt Cleansing Balm is a great cleansing balm. Nothing fancy, no extra scent, but I love the texture. It feels much more luxurious than the price tag would lead you to expect. It takes off all my makeup and gets me perfectly clean even if you don't have a washcloth at hand, so I like to take it traveling because it can also double up as a morning cleanse."
"The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid Cleanser is great at hydrating the skin and works well at taking off makeup. It basically ticks all the boxes with the exception of the fun one. It's a great workhorse, it's affordable, and I like it especially in the colder months when my skin needs that extra bit of hydration. It's designed to be a second or morning cleanse, but it does work to take off my day makeup as well."

"The Inkey List Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser looks interesting in color with some brown bits floating inside. It promises to be mildly exfoliating, which I don't get because you don't feel the bits on the skin and fulvic acid is not an exfoliating acid. It also claims to be brightening, but I don't really use it for that because it's a wash off product and doesn't have much inside except licorice root extract that I'd look for in a brightening routine. But it's a really nice cleanser that I enjoyed using up."

"The Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturizer was a surprise favorite. I'd assumed the Glow Recipe minis were for a much younger audience with their packaging and artificial scents, but I surprisingly loved quite a few, and this was one. It's called a moisturizer but it's so lightweight it feels like water on the skin and is very hydrating, so I could even forgive the horrible fake watermelon scent. It's not for when it's really cold, but for the summer months I really enjoyed it and I'm tempted to get it again."

"The Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Enrich Cream is from the probio-cica line aimed at more mature skin, which they do very well. It has the right amount of nourishment and richness without being greasy or breaking me out or giving me millia. It has probiotic ingredients and centella asiatica; I don't actively seek those out, I just want my moisturizer to keep my skin happy, calm and moisturized, and that one is great for that."

"The ZIIP Golden Gel is incredibly expensive, and you don't have to use these if you have a microcurrent device since you can use other conductive gels, but I love them. They have extra beneficial ingredients said to be transported deeper into the skin through the microcurrent; I'm not sure that's what moves the needle, but I really enjoy using them. The golden gel is my favorite, which is why I finished two, but it's also the most expensive. I'm not sure I'd buy it with my own money, but I get them as PR, so I'm happy to keep using them."

"The Geek & Gorgeous C-Glow is my favorite vitamin C serum. It's L-Ascorbic acid 20%, feels like water, sinks in immediately, doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't sting. It's amazing and I couldn't recommend it enough, especially for the price. I can buy it at my local drugstore or order it online, it never spoiled on me, and one bottle lasts around three months."

"I tried the L'Oreal Panorama mascara because of the advertising. I like L'Oreal mascaras, but that one did not work for me. It was very wet for a long time and then suddenly too dry. I'd hoped that because the wand was similar it would work as well as the Sweed Cloud 9, but it didn't."

"I really enjoy the Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. I love the texture, it never irritates my skin, and it keeps it free from congestion when used about three times a week. I'm currently using a drugstore version that's quite good as well but doesn't have the same lovely texture, so I'll go back to this one."
"The K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask is one I picked up about two years ago and I feel it helped my hair get even better. I've since sized up to the full size and use it during the week, since you don't condition beforehand, you just apply it and let it sink in. After 10 minutes I go in with some hair oil to detangle and nourish, which saves me time in the wash process over the week. I like it and have already repurchased."

"The Medik8 Crystal Retinal 6 was my husband's absolute favorite because he loved the texture and the way it felt on his skin. It is also way more expensive than the other ones, so I'm not sure it'll become a staple, since he's not willing to spend as much on skincare as I am."

"My husband also liked the Sunday Riley A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum because the texture is really lovely. Despite the name, it's the weakest of the four retinoids I showed, because the retinoid in here is a blend of retinol esters and others to reach the percentage they claim. He loved the texture but it's quite expensive. If he was willing to splurge I'd opt for it, but as he isn't, we'll stick to the Geek & Gorgeous ones."

"The Ordinary Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner is a gentle exfoliating toner with a lot of fermented ingredients, which will make or break it for you. It smells like baking yeast, which reminds me of baking bread, but some people find it off-putting. Fermented ingredients can be broken into smaller pieces that absorb better, though not everyone sees a benefit. I found my skin looked hydrated, fresh, calm, and maybe a tad brighter, and I really enjoyed it, but I wouldn't expect it to make a huge difference on dark spots. It's a great one depending on your expectations."

"The Skin 1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule is great for lightweight hydration and a little soothing. I used it a lot during summer when I just wanted something that felt like nothing but offered extra hydration, and during the fall months too. I know some people complain it doesn't do much, and I get that, it's just lightweight hydration, but if you're oily, acne prone, or don't like to layer too many products, that's one I'd recommend you check out."
Sunscreen1 review
"The Geek and Gorgeous Zero Feel SPF 50 is one of the few sunscreens designed to offer protection for people that don't want to turn skincare into their part-time job. It has a matte finish that is weightless and does not sting the eyes. When it comes out of the tube it feels quite substantial, but if you give it 30 seconds it really sinks in and feels like nothing. The finish is a natural matte like you applied a light layer of powder, making the skin feel velvety to the touch. It has no scent, plays well with different creams and makeups with no pilling, and makeup sits a little better on top of it. You can apply it close to the eyes without experiencing any irritation despite wearing contacts. It is not designed to be water resistant but preliminary tests show it stays on with around 50 percent of the protection if exposed to water, so it's confident for summer sweating but not for sweaty outdoor sports or swimming. The formula has modern filters including Uvinul A plus, Uvinul T 150, Enzulizone and Tinosorb S, tested in two independent labs and competitively tested against five other sunscreens where it came up at the top protection wise. It's ideal for normal to oily skin that prefers a natural matte finish and good protection with something you don't feel. It might not be the one if you're very dry and don't want to use a rich moisturizer, if you need something that survives swimming or sweaty outdoor sports, or if you're looking for a very dewy finish. The reviewer considers reaching for it quite a lot in the summer though it depends on the weather and how she wants her face to look."

"I start my mornings with the ziip halo short 4-minute routine. And that is something that I do year round. But that gets even more important in spring because due to seasonal allergies and just my skin being off, I'm really really puffy when I get up and this extra depuffing effect that you get through these strokes that you do is very welcome."
