What the gurus are saying

The guru community is split. One dermatologist dismisses the medical-grade positioning as marketing and objects to ZO's contradictory messaging around moisturizers, while another skincare expert praises the line and recommends finding the right products within it for individual skin. The divide reflects broader skepticism about the term medical-grade versus genuine preference for the brand's formulations.

"Medical grade is just a marketing thing to market and position more expensive stuff to people who are interested in paying more for face wash basically. The ZO you specifically asked about, they get on my nerves, just to be frank. It's not an objective criticism of them other than they get on my nerves with their whole moisturizers make the skin lazy rhetoric while simultaneously selling moisturizing products."

"I prefer the medical grade stuff. I like ZO. I know for some people it doesn't work, but for me you just have to find the right bits. It's good stuff but I keep it pretty simple."
