What the gurus are saying

Gurus are split. One reviewer praised its hydration for dry skin and appreciated the flexibility of leaving it on or rinsing before layering other products. The opposing take found the gel goopy and poorly differentiated from the brand's gold version, questioning whether the silver ingredient offers real benefits over a similar base formula and criticizing lack of versatility across skin types.

"The Zip Beauty Silver Gel, I kind of lumped these in together with the gold gel because I think they're the same base. They're both goopy and kind of gross. The difference is that one is gold and one is silver, which sounds cute and fancy, but from a scientific perspective, some people say gold can be an antioxidant, but honestly it can cause contact dermatitis for some people, which is like an allergic reaction. It's just gross. As an aesthetician, I felt like I had to buy a different one for different people. The silver one was for young acne-prone skin, and it just made me feel like I had to buy extra stuff. There wasn't that versatility, and then it was just goopy and gross. Even though one has silver and one has gold, they say the ingredients are slightly different, but they have a very similar base, and they just aren't revolutionary. I was not a fan."

"This is the silver gel which helps with additional hydration so if you have dry skin this one is wonderful. You don't have to rinse your face after you have done your Zip Halo treatment, you can actually leave this on your skin and then go and apply all of your other skin care on top if you really wanted to, or of course you can rinse this off and then go in with your skin care. It's totally up to you. I really love this gel specifically."
