"Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that can help improve water content in the skin. It's hydrating but it also exfoliates dry rough skin texture by dissolving the glue between stuck together skin cells. It helps to exfoliate the skin but it's pretty gentle. It also has licorice root in it, which is anti-inflammatory and good for redness and soothing for the moisture barrier. It has compounds from centella, which are botanical extracts that are anti-inflammatory and help reduce oxidative stress. It has nat gum and panthenol, so it's very hydrating and moisturizing. The way to use this is to just apply it to the face after cleansing. You can either take a small amount and pat it into the skin or take a cotton round and paint it onto your skin. I suggest avoiding the eyelids, the corners of the mouth, and the little crevices around the nose because it can be more irritating there. It's a really great option for dry rough skin texture, especially if you have keratosis pilaris where you have that buildup of dry rough skin in the follicle, the pore opening, like on the cheeks."
