What the gurus are saying

The gurus who tested it found a solid, fragrance-free option that works well for acne-prone skin and blackheads at a competitive price point. What stands out is the short, clean ingredient list and proper pH balance, which means the salicylic acid can do its job effectively. Those with oily or congestion-prone skin may want to start with a few times a week and adjust from there.

"The Walgreens 2% BHA liquid exfoliant. This one's also got 2% BHA, salicylic acid to fight blackheads and acne. This one's got a pretty short ingredient list and it's got the proper pH. This is a really nice option."

"Walgreens has a dupe of Polish Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant and we have a dupe of the ordinary's azelaic acid suspension. I love both of these brand name versions. Walgreens is charging $11.99. These are great options for acne-prone skin. Salicylic acid's great for closed comedones, open comedones, acne, whiteheads and blackheads. It's also good for hyperpigmentation and rough skin texture. Fragrance-free."
