What the gurus are saying

The 12,000-micro-vibration applicator divides reviewers: some find it annoying or malfunctioning, others enjoy it as a fun pampering touch without real performance benefit. Praise centers on the luxuriously silky, creamy, absorbent texture, with the cooling metal tip especially soothing for seasonal allergies and puffiness. Contains fragrance.

"I used the VT Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream, but in the process of using it I came to not like it that much. There were a lot of times where this eye cream just started going off on my counter, like it was having some electrical malfunctioning, and that got very annoying, hearing this loud vibrating sound randomly coming from my bathroom."

"This is the VT Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream, and this isn't just your ordinary eye cream. It's not your ordinary eye cream with a metal tip applicator. This eye cream actually vibrates the eye cream into your skin. This has an incredible texture. It's really silky and luxurious and moisturizing, but it's not a dense cream. It's very airy and almost like a whipped kind of a cream. So it actually glides onto the skin beautifully and has great absorption even just on its own. But when you use this applicator tip, the metal is so cooling on the skin. And this is particularly good if you suffer with seasonal allergies because this can really help to soothe the redness and the puffiness associated with that, especially around the eye area. This feels incredibly soothing during allergy season. This is actually delivering up to 12,000 micro vibrations to really help to get the eye cream deeper into your skin to really help visibly firm and tighten the skin."

"This is the VT Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream, and I will say right up front there is some fragrance in this product which is not my norm right in my skincare routines I don't usually use fragrance, however I actually really like this. The texture is quite lovely and it's the true reason why I love this. It's this really beautiful like creamy luxurious silk milky balmy eye cream. It is so elegant, it is such a beautiful experience. It's sunk into my skin with this silky, buttery feel, and just that texture alone is so moisturizing and plumping and softening and just really really lovely. It comes with the metal tip applicator which is really nice to kind of massage it in."

"This one has a very similar texture to the other one, it's moisturizing, it's rich, it's skin softening and soothing and protective but it's lighter, it's not really really dense. It spreads incredibly well, it feels so luxurious, it just effortlessly absorbs into the skin and it makes your skin so soft. The unique thing about this is it's got this vibrating applicator. Once you hold this part and it hits your skin it starts to vibrate, very gently, very low vibes. I think it's kind of a gimmick personally. I don't know that it's going to make this eye cream absorb or penetrate into your skin and therefore work better than one that doesn't vibrate. In that sense I think it's just more of like a selling point, like hey isn't this kind of fun, and it is, it's kind of fun. I don't actually use this all that often because I am just a slap and go kind of person, but every so often when I want to slow down and pamper myself a little bit, this feels pretty nice."

"This is the VT Reedle Shot Lifting Eye Cream. I'm going to top off where I put the Dr. Jart Deep Puffing Serum with some cream just because it is still an area that feels a little bit dry for me. When you hold this and then press this to your skin, it actually starts to vibrate, so there's definitely still some packaging innovation happening in K beauty. It has a very sleek, very genderless type of packaging that's going to appeal to a lot of different folks."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and it is often in a formula to keep the other ingredients stable rather than as the active itself. It pairs well with vitamin C, though on its own the evidence for visible change is limited.
