What the gurus are saying

The serum earned praise for its moisturizing performance and visible effects on redness, firmness, and glow. However, experts split on the PDRN itself: some question whether plant-derived PDRN remains stable enough on the skin to deliver the cellular benefits that salmon PDRN shows in lab studies, while the vegan angle and lack of fish smell appeal to others. It reads as a solid hydrating serum, though the star ingredient's real-world payoff on skin remains uncertain.

"As a moisturizer, I thought it was great, but I was skeptical about the PDRN. The marketing draw on that was that it was a vegan PDRN, meaning coming from Panax Ginseng. There is actually pre-clinical study at least showing that PDRN isolated from Panax Ginseng can go about doing some of the same things in vitro, pre-clinical, not on humans, that the salmon stuff does. It's a decent moisturizer, but when I think about Panax Ginseng extract, that's an ingredient that has come up multiple times in multiple products I have reviewed over the years. I'm just not buying that applying PDRN topically to the skin remains stable, gets into the cells, and binds exactly where we want it to do only what we want it to by putting it on our face in a cream."

"The VT PDRN Serum, which I've been using over the last couple of months, has given me extremely good results, especially for reducing redness on the skin and really increasing the vitality of my skin, firmness, smoothness, and plumpness. This is definitely something that helps me achieve that brighter, glowier skin."

"The VT PDRN uses a plant type of protein instead of the salmon thing. I don't necessarily know how much I think some of these plants are going to end up stacking up next to the human or the other ones or the salmon ones that are more biologically close to our skin than a plant. But if it doesn't smell like salmon, then I'm okay with it. I don't want to smell like salmon."
