"This is the PDRN Hydrogel Mask from VT Cosmetics. Even though I've been a bit of a skeptic of this category, the hydrogel masks you sleep in, this one is my favorite that I've tried so far. I like that it's vegan PDRN, since most PDRN isn't vegan. Using my skin analysis device before and after, dryness dropped by thirteen points, which is exactly what I expected, but redness went from fifteen to seven, which surprised me. It has ingredients like panthenol, ginseng, and lactobacillus that make sense for targeting redness. This could be the reason I'm enjoying this one from VT more than the other hydrogel masks I've tried."

"The mask is turning clear, the chewy dewy hydrogel melting into my skin. It really infused beautifully into my skin. This is not just like a layer of wetness or moisture on top. This is infused deep into my skin. You get this absolute beautiful glow, the light is just bouncing off my skin, and it feels so firm, so plump, and so smooth. It's so soft and incredibly moisturized. One of the things that happened to my skin since using PDRN is so much less redness on my skin, and the PDRN has this calming soothing effect on my sensitive skin. No redness in sight, and I do naturally have some redness on my skin, especially around my nose, and I don't see anything red or inflamed at all. My skin feels so soothed, so calm. I've also noticed my skin is so much smoother."

"Not all hydrogel masks are made the same. I've had really bad luck with certain hydrogel masks and I've had really good luck with certain ones, and this is one I have really good luck with. There's just something really special about [...] the ginseng PDRN. This mask really plumps, smooths, plumps the skin, makes your makeup glide on like a dream. You're going to walk around like a glowy goddess the next day. That's what this mask does. It just amplifies that, plus it's a really nice experience to spend a little bit more time masking and really pampering your skin. It's going to feel so smooth afterwards."
Are Hydrogel Masks Really Better than Sheet Masks? | AD ft. VT
"This hydrogel is infused with PDRN, which is a DNA polymer that VT is deriving from wild ginseng, so it's totally vegan. PDRN can actually help to stimulate collagen, so it's particularly good for anyone with anti-aging goals to help address fine lines and wrinkles and really those looking to rejuvenate their skin and get it looking more youthful. It's anti-inflammatory, it's antioxidant, and it also helps with skin elasticity as well. [...] This mask contains an entire bottle of PDRN, so it can be a really great way to give your skin a quick glow up whether you're prepping for a special event or you're just looking to take your skin to the next level with targeted active ingredients. Keep it on your skin for as long as possible until it goes clear as it slowly infuses into your skin."

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide has evidence behind it for redness, uneven tone and supporting the skin barrier, and it is usually well tolerated even by skin that reacts to most things.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
