"I fell for the hype on the VT Reedle Shot 100. It's basically a serum with cica, a very popular ingredient that's great for soothing the skin, and madecassoside, which is great for anti-inflammatory benefits. What's really popular about this specific serum is that it has microneedles that create tiny little punctures in the skin so all the functional ingredients in the formula can go deeper into the skin, like injecting it in, versus a regular serum that still has to create pathways to get in. I used this on a test portion of my skin and it did not feel good."

"This promises to be an alternative to microneedling using spicules, a naturally occurring needle-like part of a sponge. The first few times I tried this it was sheer pain, it was not comfortable for me to apply, but I figured out that tapping it in rather than massaging it across my skin helps. You should probably be careful with this in the same way you would with microneedling, so I don't use it before my other actives. I don't necessarily love the way it feels and the restrictions I have with it, it really has to be used in a simple routine and I don't do a simple routine every day, so I don't love the way I have to use this. But I found a study showing spicules combined with EGF gave a significant improvement in wrinkles versus EGF alone, so I don't want to write this product off, it does sound like there may be some potential."
