What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as a top-tier hyaluronic acid serum, especially for sensitive skin and those avoiding fragrance. The 11-ingredient formula and absence of irritants are repeatedly highlighted as major strengths. Reviewers emphasize applying it to damp skin followed by a moisturizer to lock in hydration, since hyaluronic acid alone doesn't provide lasting plumping or collagen production. Clinical studies backing skin barrier repair are noted as a standout benefit.

How to Fix Dehydrated Skin: Best Hydrating Products of the Year
"If you have sensitive skin, Vichy Mineral 89. I've talked about this one on the channel multiple times. It's great for those with sensitive skin because it has a very minimalistic ingredient list and it is quite plumping but not the most plumping but a great start for those who are trying to start off with a hydrating serum, a hyaluronic acid serum. You got your volcanic spring water from Vichy which is a great reliable French brand. Plus you have your hyaluronic acid. It's like a moisture magnet that will draw on water and retain it. Apply it right onto your skin when it's a little damp and it will help draw on that water. It just blends in so well. Very lightweight. Layers well with your sunscreen and your makeup. It won't make all those products peel."

Skincare Secrets to Manage Crepey Skin from a Dermatologist
"You can apply Vichy Mineral 89 onto any area and then follow up with a moisturizer with peptide, which will be a cell signal to tell your skin to make more collagen. You can use that over your hyaluronic acid and that will help temporarily plump the skin because hyaluronic acid does not provide long-term benefits, it just hydrates the skin at the moment."
How to Upgrade your Morning Skincare Routine!
"Vichy Mineral 89, very good stuff. That's a great hyaluronic acid with, you know, not a lot of ingredients, 11 ingredients. They're Prebiotic concentrate also, very nice with niacinamide. Been using that more often, and that's a nice way to boost and plump your skin by using hyaluronic acid to draw on moisture and keep it there."

"Vichy makes a great Mineral 89 hyaluronic acid. I'm using their Prebiotic Concentrate, which has special ferment from the volcanic water, but there's also niacinamide in it, which is a vitamin B3 analog that we all love. I don't really care for niacinamide serums that are 10% or more, those are too high. We only need small percentages of niacinamide for it to work, help brighten the skin, help regulate sebum production, and soothe the skin, and it's anti-inflammatory. This one's a nice one."
You Are Doing Your Skincare Incorrectly: Common Skincare Routine Mistakes
"Vichy Mineral 89, I think it only has 11 ingredients so very good for those with sensitive skin or those with rosacea prone skin this is a great option. Apply that to your skin getting that temporary plumping and then follow up with a moisturizer over it, because if you just have your hyaluronic acid on your skin yes the sugar is soaking up all the moisture in your skin but it's not going to retain it you need an emollient to seal it all in."

"I really do like the texture of the cream. This is great to put over damp skin if you put your hyaluronic acid serum like Vichy Mineral 89 or if you have La Roche-Posay B5 or this on damp skin, it's really going to draw in that water because that's what hyaluronic acid does, draws in water like a magnet, and then you apply a moisturizer or if you slug over it, that's a great hack."

Dermatologist Explains: Three Ways to Glow Up Your Skin Today
"Vichy Mineral 89 is a great gentle serum with only about 11 or 13 ingredients. It contains their volcanic water and it's a nice safe option that's so reliable. It goes on so well to damp skin. Hyaluronic acid is found naturally in our skin, but we have decreased production of it with time, especially after age 25. This carbohydrate draws in water and holds onto it, soaks it up, and helps hydrate our skin and temporarily plump it. It doesn't increase collagen production like peptides or retinol do, but it does a great job when you have damp skin. Just apply it and it really will soak up that moisture and try to get your skin nice and dewy and plump."

"If I had to pick like one hyaluronic acid serum that I could use for the rest of my life, this would be it. This is so good. It's so simple, only 11 ingredients. It's suitable for sensitive skin, no fragrances, and really helps to repair the skin barrier. In fact, it's been shown in studies to actually strengthen the skin barrier and increase enzymes responsible for building the skin barrier. You can use it post-procedure as well. And for those with super oily skin in the summertime, it can actually even double as a moisturizer. Even though it's like a gel serum, but it's just so lovely. It's got that Vichy volcanic water that we know is really helpful, rich in different types of minerals to support our skin barrier and then hyaluronic acid."

"I put on my hydrating serum, Mineral 89 from Vichy. It's a big bottle, but I brought it for a few reasons. Number one, aside from being a good hyaluronic acid serum, Mineral 89 actually has great clinical studies that show it helps to strengthen and repair the skin barrier. It's got different enzymes and antioxidants, so really helpful for me when I'm flying, when I know that my skin is not only going to be dehydrated but the skin barrier is going to be a little compromised."

"It's the Vichy Mineral 89 HA serum, thermal spring water, hyaluronic acid, little bit of glycerin, and it just sits so lightly on the skin. One of the things is it's been around so long and it's so simple. It may not be newsworthy, but it's always just a good staple hydrating product."

Reviewing Skincare Hacks: Hyaluronic acid for the lips, Dandruff shampoo face wash, & Sleep pillows
"One of my favorite hyaluronic acid products is the Vichy Mineral 89. It tastes terrible, actually it's extremely bitter. I didn't enjoy that. The plumping effect of it was minimal, maybe minimally noticeable improvement in plumping of the lips, but my lips after a few minutes started to feel either more dry or back to baseline. Especially with the lips compared to the rest of the face, because the lips either have no stratum corneum layer of the skin or a very slim thin stratum corneum layer of the skin, you are more likely with hyaluronic acid to lose water through your lips than you would in other parts of the face. I do not recommend, especially if you have dry lips or if you live in an arid climate, to just use hyaluronic acid on your lips by itself."

"They basically took the content of their serum and created a lightweight cream. It's not a gel cream, I'd say like this is a lightweight cream, like a true lightweight cream. The Vichy volcano water in it, you know it sounds gimmicky but it's got data behind it. I think it does add a layer of fun flair but I think it actually does add some soothing."

"We've always loved the Vichy Mineral 89. These hydrating serums can really help the skin barrier, they do hydrate. It's always more complex formula than just hyaluronic acid so that nuance. It's combined with glycerin, thermal spring water, whatever. I love the Vichy Mineral 89 serum."

"It's marketed as this revolutionary hydrating serum packed with volcanic water and hyaluronic acid and is very very very nice. If you want a good dose of hydration, you're going to get it from here. When I kind of look at the ingredients, it's quite basic in a nice way, not in a bad way. Water of course, glycerin, butylene glycol, and then some sodium hyaluronate. It's lightweight and hydrating. It literally just feels like water for your skin. And then the claims about the barrier support and antioxidant protection are mostly coming from their mineral water, which doesn't really have the same robust clinical backing as ingredients like peptides or ceramides, for example."

"Vichy Mineral 89, if we talk of drugstore brands and skincare that you get in drugstore brands, which is not like as affordable as your Cetaphil or CeraVe but is slightly better, Vichy takes the cake. Vichy has some really really good formulas. In fact right now I'm testing out an eye cream that they came out with and I'm really really surprised they make some amazing formulas."

"I was just a bit underwhelmed. It's pretty much just a hyaluronic acid serum and it costs £50, which is ridiculously expensive. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this, I just think the price point means that you could honestly be getting the same outcome at a fraction of the cost. I tried the original which was a bit of a fail, and this is the Prebiotic one which I think is fractionally better, but still just not worth it."

"This one also has the added 6% niacinamide. I really love a combination product because it makes routines so simple. It has niacinamide in it too and at a really good percentage, 6%. It is not sticky or tacky at all, which is a complaint I have with some niacinamide serums that can leave this like little residue on the skin, but this is very smooth. It's a serum that is very simple, good for sensitive skin, has two powerhouse ingredients in it: niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. You can use it either morning or night or both, whatever makes sense for your routine."

"This is an all-time favorite of mine. It's 30% off right now and you need this product on hand at all times. It really can fit into so many different skincare routines. You can wear it alone as a hydrating serum, you can wear it under a moisturizer to supercharge the hydration, or you can just wear it alone as a super lightweight moisturizer. It pairs well with other products, it layers well, it is soothing to the skin, it can help repair an irritated skin barrier. It's a super minimalistic product with only like 11 ingredients in it, so this is in my personal skincare stockpile year-round and my travel skincare bag all the time."

"I will never be without the Vichy Mineral 89. It's such an amazing product. I have a whole dedicated video just on this product because it's such an important part of my skincare routine year round. I recommend this to my patients in my Dermatology practice a lot for a lot of different conditions. It has 11 total ingredients, so it's a very minimalistic product. I consider this a hybrid serum moisturizer product, so you can use this in a lot of ways. You can use this alone as a moisturizer in the summer or if you have oily skin, you can put it under a thicker moisturizer to really supercharge your moisturization of the skin. You can use it alone as a hyaluronic acid serum. It layers so nicely in skincare routines and it's great for all skin types because it's really not irritating."
