    What the gurus are saying

This serum delivers plump, dewy skin from a surprisingly simple formula - most hydrating serums contain multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, but this one achieves results with just glycerin, butylene glycol, and sodium hyaluronate, which gurus call one of the most effective they've tested. The lightweight, water-weight texture makes it easy to layer, and it's formulated with Vichy's mineral-rich volcanic water. Reviewers especially recommend it for sensitive skin.

"This is like 11 ingredients, simple formula, hydrating serum with high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. A lot of hyaluronic acid serums use a mixture of low molecular weight and high molecular weight or sometimes only low molecular weight, and those can be pro-inflammatory for some people. The higher molecular weight, the one that doesn't penetrate the skin, the one that sits on top of the skin, is just gentler. It's more cushioning to the skin. It's softer on the skin. This uses a high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. I feel like it's lost a little bit of its hype because there's so much newness to get excited about, but it is still a phenomenal formula that I definitely stand by. It's still an all-time favorite. One of my go-tos if I just want some refreshing hydration. Simple formula. It just does what it does and does it well."

"One of the ones I really love is the Vichy Mineral 89 booster serum. When I first dug into this product and actually when I was talking to the brand, some of the studies they have on it show that it decreases transepidermal water loss. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, a very strong one, meaning that it draws water from the environment and from your deeper skin, so it does have a lot of visible improvements even when used immediately. It kind of has that nice immediate plump, immediate bounce. It does have a functional purpose to it, but hyaluronic acid by itself can be drying, but it doesn't exist in isolation in this product."

"After cleansing our face morning and night, we can apply a hyaluronic acid serum onto the face. Hyaluronic acid is a carbohydrate that draws in water like a sponge. It's a water magnet. It tries to plump up the skin. Vichy's Mineral 89 serum, a classic one. I love it."

"My first recommendation in this category is going to be the Vichy Mineral 89 hyaluronic acid serum. It's going to help plump the skin back, bounce it back. It will strengthen the skin barrier. Now, always apply this to damp skin because hyaluronic acid is like a sponge. It will pull water up. So pat your skin a little bit of water and then put your hyaluronic acid on top followed by vitamin C or moisturizer. The hyaluronic acid, especially when applied to damp skin, is going to give you that nice dewy appearance. And if you're dry, it's really going to help plump those tiny little lines up and make the wrinkles less pronounced."

"The Vichy Mineral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum is made with hyaluronic acid and mineral-rich volcanic water. It hydrates and plumps the skin for a fresh, dewy appearance, and it strengthens the skin barrier, making it more resilient against environmental stressors. It's super lightweight with a not sticky texture that absorbs really quickly, so it's ideal for layering. It contains hyaluronic acid which will attract moisture to the skin and keep it hydrated and plump. It also contains the Vichy volcanic water which has 15 essential minerals that strengthen and protect the skin, enhancing resilience."

"This is Vichy Mineral 89, which I think of as a hydrating serum with additional benefits, but you can actually use it as a gel moisturizer. It's as lightweight as a gel moisturizer gets. I normally use this as a hydrating serum, but for those with super oily skin especially in the summertime when it's hot and humid, I can see this being a good hydrating gel moisturizer because it's super lightweight and non-sticky. It's got great hyaluronic acid that's going to support your skin barrier, but at the same time that Vichy volcanic water with 15 minerals helps to strengthen your barrier and support your skin barrier without adding stickiness, heaviness, or greasiness. I really only recommend this for those that have super oily skin to use in the hot and humid months. If you have more dry skin, this is better served as a hydrating serum that you could use before a light cream moisturizer."

"I bought this one because number one it's so hot and humid here that I like a lighter serum for the summer. I'm gonna go in with my big bottle Mineral 89. I brought this on the plane trip and that was literally like a few days before coming here and I just wanted to use this up again. It's a nice hydrating serum and I find that you know in Singapore it's really funny because even though it's so hot and humid you're constantly going from inside to outside and so you're constantly going from like hot humid weather to really cool dry air conditioning weather and I actually find that my skin gets more easily dehydrated in that situation than if I were in a constant environment so I really like the hydrating serum and then like a nice moisturizer on top of that to prevent the dehydration."

"I really love Vichy Mineral 89 hydrating serum. This is a great one because it has pure hyaluronic acid, contains B's volcanic water that we know has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, but also is fragrance-free and has been tested in over thousands of patients to help strengthen and repair their barrier. So just a great hydrating serum for all skin types. You basically pump that onto your skin, apply it on damp skin, and then follow it with a moisturizer before that fully dries to really lock everything in."

"This feels on the skin, it is so lightweight and so hydrating and it is so easy to wear under other skin care products in your routine or even makeup without peeling, and the amount of hydration that this product has brought back to my skin has been incredible. I used to use Vichy Mineral 89 very often in my routine, which I still love, but this one to me personally for my skin is even more hydrating than that one, and it has the 6% niacinamide in it, so I consider this a combination serum, hyaluronic acid based serum and a niacinamide based serum. It's honestly a very affordable price overall."

"One of the best hyaluronic acid serums I've ever used, I absolutely loved this product. This is an award winner, approved by the British Skin Foundation. They've got the highest concentration of Vichy volcanic mineralized water rich in 15 essential minerals, suitable for sensitive skin. This is such a lightweight, almost water-weight kind of feel on the skin. It goes on like a normal serum, but when you put it on it does just feel like a splash of hydration with a really minimalist ingredient list. Usually when you see these serums that are so hydrating, they have every kind of version of hyaluronic acid that you can possibly get within formulating a product, whereas this just has glycerin, it has butylene glycol and sodium hyaluronate. But it really is one of the most skin-quenching serums I've ever used. So if you do feel a little bit dehydrated or you just want well hydrated skin because hydrated skin for me equals happy skin, this is a really good, affordable serum that you can easily get your hands on. I absolutely love this one."
