What the gurus are saying

Gurus confirm the Vbeam is an effective clinical tool for reducing redness and blending discoloration, particularly when visible blood vessels are present. Results require multiple treatments and involve temporary bruising and pigment during healing. The laser works best on distinct vascular concerns rather than diffuse redness, and outcomes vary depending on skin type and the specifics of what's being treated.

"Toward the end of the series of treatments Dr Idis switched over to Vbeam to directly address the redness and the pigmentation that was associated with my scar area. The Vbeam laser is a pulsed dye laser using 595 nanometer PDL technology to deliver intense but gentle bursts of light which is absorbed by the blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas removing targeted imperfections. It's the gold standard for treating numerous vascular lesions and it has clinically proven results for multiple skin types. I had three Vbeam treatments to help the discoloration of the scar area and to help it blend in with the rest of my neck and décolletage. This was a very targeted treatment that she did right along the scar. The Vbeam treatment is pretty intense and I was left with some bruising and pigment for about a week while it healed up, but after that the colors started to dissipate throughout my scar area and blend in with the rest of my neck and décolletage."

"The brand name of pulse dye laser that you may have heard of is called Vbeam. With any laser that is targeting redness in the skin, it's going to work the best if you have a visible superficial vessel. Lasers are targeting hemoglobin, they need to see that little tiny red blood cell in order to hit it. So if you just have kind of pink diffused skin, the laser can't really figure out where to go. That being said, most people who have flushing do have some dilated blood vessels, so by going in and treating those dilated blood vessels it will help with the flushing to some degree. Usually you're going to need several treatments to get the best results."
