What the gurus are saying

Gurus consistently praise this as an accessible, no-frills moisturizer for sensitive skin, with multiple reviewers noting its simplicity, fragrance-free formula, and availability at Target. The main split is on face use: some find it gentle enough for facial application, while others prefer reserving it for body. A recurring note is that it works best applied to damp skin right after showering to lock in hydration, and that those with very dry skin may want Vanicream's thicker cream option instead.

"This is their moisturizing lotion, which I love. It's fragrance free and it's a simple moisturizer. If you have super dry skin, they've got a thicker cream, too, which is nice. That's a nice brand, readily available at Target."

"The Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion has a very short ingredient list with petroleum as the main ingredient and sorbitol, so it's interesting that they have like ten ingredients in there. They recommend applying it to face, hands, and body, but I wouldn't use this on my face. If your face isn't super sensitive or reactive you could probably get away with it, but my face is too high maintenance for that. I think especially when winter time comes, and especially if you can use your moisturizer right after you get out of the shower as soon as possible, before your skin dries off completely, it locks in that moisture and gives you some more hydration, which is always a good thing."

"The Vanicream Moisturizing Lotion comes in a giant bottle and it's $14 at Target. It's a really nice simple moisturizer with probably about 10 ingredients. It's really nice for skin that's really sensitive. You can use this on your body, neck, face, wherever you want. I use it mostly on my body, my arms, and my neck area because it's just so nice."

"The moisturizing lotion, this pairing right here with a gentle cleanser, I think meets the needs of a wide variety of people. Men, women, children. A moisturizer can really just rejuvenate the appearance of your skin quite a bit and it can improve barrier turnover. It can have a lot of benefits."

"Vanicream's moisturizing lotion, the light version, is a great one. It's a light lotion but it's actually very nourishing and it's not super heavy or rich, so I really love this one for the summertime for my skin. If you are battling body acne and you're eczema prone, then go ahead and use a more rich moisturizer, because sometimes for certain individuals this moisturizer may be more problematic."
