What the gurus are saying

Gurus praise the formula's sensory appeal and fun factor, calling it an experience-focused sunscreen that smells great and makes sun protection feel less like a chore, especially for those heading to the beach or wanting to excite kids about sunscreen. However, the airy texture creates real practical challenges: the whipped formula makes it hard to tell how much is actually covering skin, which one guru found led to uneven protection, and it requires a thicker application than standard sunscreens. The bigger catch is sensitivity risk. Those with fragrance sensitivities, eczema, coconut allergies, acne-prone skin, or sensitive eyes should skip it entirely, as gurus found it can irritate and leave skin sticky. Best suited for people with resilient skin who value the experience over pure performance and don't mind using more product.

"The Vacation Classic Whip SPF 30 to me is the better product. For the price though, it's $22, and honestly, the Vacation to me is the better product, but at that price point versus alternatives, it comes down to your budget."

"You're going to have to wear more than you would normally wear of your regular sunscreens, get a nice thick layer. It smells phenomenally. If you have eczema or you are sensitive to fragrances, not for you, but if you love an experience, I would have to say this is 10 out of 10 on experience. My first outing with the sunscreen I hated it because I used it before surfing and I found that this sunscreen was extremely irritating when it got in my eyes. So if you're going to be running, sweating, maybe in the water and active, not a sensitive skin, sensitive eyeball sunscreen, not gentle at all. But from the experience standpoint, this will probably elevate your beach trip. It will probably create some nostalgia to go along with whatever adventure you're having. Love this sunscreen."

"When you rub it in there's so much air in there I don't actually know if I'm covering my body enough and I think that did lead to me getting a little bit pinker than I wanted. I didn't feel like this protected me as well and I don't know if it's the formula, if it's an SPF 30 or if it's the fact that it's aerated so I couldn't figure out how much to apply to my skin. This would be one of my absolute favorite sunscreens if it didn't break anything out, but if you're sensitive to coconut this has coconut in it and if you're acne prone, fragrance sensitive, stay away. If you want to have fun with your sunscreen, if you're going to a bachelorette party or beach vacation or if you're trying to have fun with your routine, you're sick and tired of the same old grubby lotions, you have kids you want to get them excited about using sunscreen, this is so fun as a use case. It does kind of make me a little bit sticky. I think it's the coconut oil in here. I wanted to love it and I do love certain aspects, but I don't think it was perfect for my body."
