What the gurus are saying

Gurus appreciate the formula's thoughtful ingredients and lightweight feel, but harbor concerns about efficacy and tolerability. The core tension: vitamin C serums are unpredictable, they may irritate rather than deliver results. Citrus extracts and other actives risk triggering sensitivity, especially for those with existing fragrance allergies. Price at $58/oz is flagged as steep for the uncertainty.

"This has citrus peel extract in it as well, which may be a more natural source of vitamin C, but citrus extracts can be irritating, especially if you already have pre-existing fragrance allergies or a lot of compounds in citrus extracts that can cross react with that sensitivity. This has sea buckthorn oil in it, which is an emollient that I actually rather enjoy in skincare products. My reservations with vitamin C make this a product that I'm skeptical about. With vitamin C serums, you really just never know if they're actually going to end up working out or doing anything for you, and if anything they can end up being a lot more irritating."
