    What the gurus are saying

This cream dries down skin-like instead of leaving a shine, which means it works well in the morning or under makeup even if your skin runs oily. Gurus praise how it hydrates without feeling heavy or sticky, absorbs quickly, and never stings or causes irritation. The ceramides and hyaluronic acid work to repair and seal the barrier, making it especially helpful if you have dehydration, sensitivity, or a compromised moisture barrier. It pairs well with active ingredients like retinol or tretinoin and can be used twice daily without worry.

"My moisturizer is Tower 28 SOS Barrier Recovery Cream. This is a great ceramide-based moisturizer that helps to gently support my skin barrier with a velvety neutral finish that is gently occlusive, but it's not heavy or oppressive for my skin, especially because I am anticipating today being a little bit warm. It just really hits the spot right now."

"I actually didn't think I was going to like this cream, quite honestly, because it is so simple, but it's actually a really well-performing moisturizer. It gently hugs in the hydration. It gently fights the dehydration. It offers moisturization that feels light, non-greasy, not overly rich. Not something that leaves your skin shiny at the surface. So it's actually something that I feel comfortable going out in when it's much warmer and my skin is feeling a little bit more oily. This feels seasonally appropriate if you have a little bit more dryness, but you don't want to overwhelm your skin. And just that simple formula is definitely great even when my skin's feeling a little bit irritated. This is my recommendation for combination skin that leans a little bit more towards the dry side. This is also going to be great if you have a weak moisture barrier, if you're suffering with a lot of dehydration on your skin or if you have sensitive skin."

"I named this a great moisturizer for summer before and then almost immediately forgot about it, but this summer I've been using it again in the morning while I use my iUNIK Beta Glucan 3X Barrier Cream at night, and that's been working really well for me. The texture reminds me of if the iUNIK 3X Barrier Cream had a baby with CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. It's not as heavy and dense as CeraVe, a little lighter like iUNIK, but it has that same velvety, neutral-like finish I really appreciate. It's lightly occlusive enough to lock in hydration and beat the air conditioning drying out my skin, but it's light enough and breathable enough that I don't feel overwhelmed and suffocating in the heat and humidity when I go outside. It's a ceramide based cream, very sensitive skin appropriate, incredibly simple, minimal, and gentle on the skin, but it works really nicely for dehydration and stands up to the humidity. I don't need my moisturizer to reinvent the wheel, but there are very perfect conditions I demand from a moisturizer, and I had forgotten this was one of the few that actually meets them."

"The Tower 28 Daily Barrier Recovery Cream. I love this one because it is so so hydrating, but really feels lightweight. Doesn't feel like there's anything heavy on your skin. [...] It's an intentionally basic daily moisturizer designed for sensitive skin. The founder suffered from [...] severe eczema and wanted to formulate something intentionally basic, going back to just the essentials to cut out all the other ingredients that might be irritating to your skin. She formulated this with hyaluronic acid and ceramides, all hydrating ingredients meant to help repair your skin barrier. And it truly is a fast absorbing cushiony soft cream that's not sticky. It won't clog your pores. It won't cause breakouts. And it doesn't sting at all. I love how it instantly hydrates your skin and soothes irritation. Ceramides act like [...] mortar, the glue holding your skin cells [...] together. So it helps to support your healthy skin barrier by keeping moisture in and bad stuff like irritants and microbes out."

"The Tower 28 Daily Barrier Recovery Cream [...] is the most lightweight product that I'm going to be sharing in today's video. This actually dries down skin-like, so generally with richer, more moisturizing creams, sometimes they can leave your skin a little shinier because they're more rich and more emollient, but this actually dries down skin-like. So if you do have oily skin, you might really like this, especially in your morning routine, but I like it even when my skin is super dry and it always does the job. This has hyaluronic acid to hydrate, there are ceramides in here to repair and strengthen that skin barrier. It also prevents transepidermal water loss. There's allantoin, which can help to soothe the skin and prevent moisture loss. There's glycerin in here and the list goes on. So it's a great one to use underneath sunscreen, makeup. I've never experienced peeling, and it's also a great one to use with active ingredients like retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, whatever you're using. And this can be used every day, twice a day. I like the squeezy tube type of packaging. You are getting 1.86 fluid ounces. It is fragrance-free."

"We're going to try the Tower 28 Daily Barrier Recovery Cream first, which I love their products, and I actually feel like they are doing so well in the skincare category, which is really unique for more of a makeup brand, but it's just working for them. Ooh, okay, so this is actually a lighter texture than what I was expecting. It feels nice, it's sinking into the skin really beautifully. Tower 28 is all sensitive skin focused, which is nice, I feel like I just trust their products because of that. Okay, well that feels really nice."
