What the gurus are saying

This cream delivers strong hydration with a cooling, soothing feel that works for all skin types. However, reviewers split on staying power: some found it notably efficient and quenching, while others noted the effect fades quickly and requires frequent reapplication for lasting hydration. The minimal oil content makes it suitable for oily skin, though you may want to layer it several times throughout the day.

"I actually really like the Torriden Dive In low molecular weight hyaluronic acid soothing cream. It's really nice, nothing revolutionary or to run out and get, but if you have dehydrated, dry, combination, oily or all skin types you can enjoy and benefit from it. This particular cream feels a lot more quenching and hydrating compared to others, especially combined with the serum version."

"Torriden is doing a great job making a good product with hyaluronic acid, the soothing moisture works so well, making the skin feel cool, and it has less than 1% oil so it is great for oily skin. It is a light blue gel cream, but I feel it is not long lasting, so you have to layer it many, many times."

"Next is the Torriden Dive-In Soothing Cream, it definitely feels like a popular product, but if you're dry or mature skin, skip this, the Torriden serum is fine in summer but this cream is too light. They named it a cream but it's really a soothing gel using hyaluronic acid, it's a light blue gel with no scent, good for instant cooling and hydration, they use less than one percent oil so oily, combination skin, teens and men will love this. Layering is required because of the low moisture, and it's not a tube type so I don't think it's good for hygiene."

"It's just a really really nice pleasant light to medium type of gel cream and I do think that this is going to be great like I said oily skin will like this"

What the evidence says.

Independent of what the gurus think, this is what the published research supports about the main active ingredients here.

Urea

Urea both holds water in the skin and gently loosens dead surface cells. At higher strengths it has good evidence for very dry or thickened skin.

Humectants and emollients

Ingredients like these draw water into the surface layers and slow how fast it leaves. The evidence is for comfort, softness and hydration rather than for changing the structure of the skin.
