What the gurus are saying

One expert found it genuinely useful for mattifying and evening tone when layered over tinted sunscreen, and repurchased it repeatedly. However, another felt the shade range fell short, with only a handful of options that don't match deeper skin tones well. The lightweight texture works for some, but the limited shade selection may not suit everyone.

"This is their Born This Way soft blur flexible finish setting powder, a pressed powder that comes in a compact and in shades. I wear it in the shade medium and I've hit pan on it. I don't use this as my setting powder when I have on makeup because for me this is much heavier, but what I use this for is adding a little bit of extra coverage and mattifying down my sunscreen. I tend to use tinted mineral sunscreens and they tend to be a little bit heavier, a little bit shinier, and they definitely accentuate all my pores and texture. So I need a powder to put over them. It evens out my skin tone, it takes away my redness, it mattifies my skin, so it takes away my pores and texture. I've hit pan on it and I will definitely be buying a new one."

"I know this is a really lightweight powder. And yes, there are some extremely lightweight powders where in the shade range there's maybe five, six, but this still isn't great. These two could be the same. There needs to be more here. I don't like that shade range really. And these other shades that says it fits on, I'm looking at this bottom one here and then looking at the model on the end here with the deeper skin tone. I just can't imagine that looking any way good on her. And then same with this here, this shade with this person on the end. Not really a fan of that."
