"If you go with the toothpaste route, this is actually a very difficult thing to do because it is hard to find a toothpaste that does not have a mint or cinnamon in it. I think one I've recommended is Tom's strawberry toothpaste. If you have children you probably have this somewhere in your house, but Tom's strawberry toothpaste does not have any of those minty associated ingredients."

"I'm currently using this one by Tom's and it's a good option, much gentler. Strawberry is a lot less irritating in comparison to the adult strongly flavored cinnamon or mint. [...] The flavorant in adult toothpaste because it's so strong, if that residue gets around the mouth it can be irritating. [...] I always suggest keeping the fluoride and going with the strawberry first to see if that makes a difference because fluoride is so important for cavity prevention."
